Saturday I went to a rally(obedience type) trial with my dog. She blew all 3 classes. She just can't wait to start. Sunday I put fabric started products and scaps away. I am having a total knee replacement Thursday, and am trying to get things organized so I can sew without much moving around. I will learn how to use my left foot on the pedal! Diane C

I cleaned my waterlogged basement. On February 28 TH we had flooding all over town and our house to.The water backed up through the drain and we had 6 inches of water in here.We had to pump it out with 2 pumps. Tore all the wet carpet out of my finished basement and threw 4 boxes filled with soaked patterns away. Some of my stash got wet but I saved it by washing it. I am getting to old for all this furniture and plastic tubs moving.
Thank God we have good oak furniture which my hubby build and they only had to be washed and dried.

Helped a friend clean and sort her storage area on Saturday. Got motivated to do the same at home. Sunday we planted 4 trees before Service at 4:00. Monday, I started my first quilt project on my 1919 Singer treadle sewing machine. It sews wonderfully and was so much fun!

My husband took me to Cannon Beach for 3 days. It was so relaxing. One day of bad weather, thats OK I got to read. We visited all the quilt shops in the area. One day of absolutely spectacular weather. We had a great time.

GGD stayed over Fri/Sat so we played games, and then when she and DH went to see Rango on Sat, I stayed home and finished reading Jodi Picoult's book House Rules, which was wonderful. Just love her books.
Sunday DH & I went to visit 2 antique shops before rain turned to snow and we had to head home. Almost bought antique quilt... couldn't make up my mind between 4, so decided to think about it. All were hand pieced/quilted. Two were 1930s, other two were 1880s...not thrilled about colors in 3 of them but loved the patterns. Loved colors of 1 but not liking the pattern and.... Only 1 was full size, the rest were twin. As you can see I still have not made up my mind.

P.S. A young friend & former co-worker (my kids age) does the voice of Spoons in Rango. Very proud of him!

I wall papered, painted for over 20 hours and cleaned the house. We have it up for sale and planning on moving soon. So this weekend I hope to get to do a lot of sewing and me time!

Deborah12687 03-08-2011 08:34 AM

I started a wall hanging and a table matt for my table and spent time cutting the blocks.

Maire 03-08-2011 10:21 AM

I also had an unexpected opportunity to go the Puyallup, Wash sewing expo (I live in PA) We had 2 full days there-loved every minute. I saw & chitchatted with Eleanor Burns-she is originally from my area of PA, Nancy Zeiman & Libby Lehman.
My wallet suffered but it was a once in a lifetime opportunity, loved it.

Weight Watchers Saturday, ran errands, bought groceries.

Sunday, went to church and then to breakfast with friends. Just after coffee got poured our 32 yo DS called and said he had a rapid heartbeat that wouldn't resolve and he needed to go to the ER. Left the table, rushed home, picked him up and off to the ER. It took about an HOUR before the triage nurse called him back... they even took people that came in after us back before him.

When she hooked him up to the BP/Pulse machine she was asking questions and typing and finally realized the machine had inflated and deflated several times. She looked at the machine and then at him and said "Do you feel like your heart just changed rhythm. My DS said 'well, yea, that is why I'm here. They took him back immediately. Long story short -- eventually (late in day) got sent to CCU as his heartbeat at one point was 174 with a BP of 60/40 (Before Meds). Their problem was keeping his blood pressure up while they brought the heart rate down because the meds lower the blood pressure.

Finally saw a cardiologist late MONDAY afternoon. He got moved to a regular room and they put a 24 hr monitor on him. If that stays stable for 24 hrs then the meds are working and he can go home ... but will have to stay on the meds for the rest of his life.

Very grateful to the Lord for sparing him!

Thank you so much.

LINANN 03-08-2011 12:43 PM

I went to a quilt show in Somerset NJ with my sister.

elseebee 03-08-2011 12:45 PM

I finished the quilt top from Hades. It was a community quilt for guild that had scraps of fabric to put together. Being fairly new to quilting, I'd never tried to design something without a pattern or idea. I made borders and put a churn dash block in each corner. Being a novice, I didn't really understand how to calculate some of the pieces. Long story shortened, I used every scrap I had but finally pieced the thing together. Many bad words and much increase in my BP later, I'm ready to sandwich and will do some straight line quilting and turn it in at next week's meeting. I thought I was a "confident beginner" quilter, but maybe I'm still just a "beginning beginner".

mommafank 03-08-2011 12:53 PM

I spent the weekend with daughter in Orlando and her family attending 2 soccer games,2 Irish Step Dance shows and a parade. Between all these activities, I made an Irish Step Dance solo dress.

Quilter54 03-08-2011 03:38 PM

Not much sewing. Had a houseful of company. 14 adults, 8 children ages 15 months, 2,3,4,5 (2 of them),6 & 10. And some of the adults that acted like 3. All in fun though. Great time.

Mariposa 03-08-2011 03:54 PM

I wasn't home much. Missed my sewing projects! But do plan on spending time sewing this coming weekend! Yay!

Scakes 03-08-2011 04:15 PM

Lucky you going to Nancy's. I stayed home and cleaned house, worked on decluttering the sewing room more, watched it rain - all kinds of exciting stuff.

PattyS 03-08-2011 04:45 PM

quiltgrammyt2 03-08-2011 06:06 PM

Spent the weekend curled up on couch,SICK, our whole household has been under the weather for about 3 weeks now.
Time for it to move on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

butterflies5518 03-08-2011 06:06 PM

I did the shop hop! Visited 123 stores and saw some the neatest websites, bookmarked some and signed up for newsletters from others. All from the comfort of my couch. Been procrastinating starting the next quilt when as I gathered each of the 12 patterns it is exactly what I was searching for! Now so ready to start - right after I finish on this board.

I cleaned the basement, had to throw out some stuff, told my kids to come and get what belongs to them OR on garbage day it goes. I finally got my sewing machine back from the maintenance dr. Soooo now I can sew till my heart is content. The basement is my sewing santuary, but when the kids moved out they're stuff did not go with them.

Jacqueline m l 03-08-2011 07:17 PM

I went shopping on Saturday, and on Sunday, I headed to the basement, began the Laundry, It's right next to my longarm. So I played on my longarm from 7 am until 3 pm, then to my sewing room and quilted on a BOM project. It was a great day.

susie0808 03-08-2011 07:19 PM

Funny how that works, huh?

I spent my week-end caring for my 15 month old gd and her mom. They both had a lower intestine virus. My poor baby went through a whole small box of diapers. She just laid on me quietly, so sick. Mom was okay, she coped with it.
Prayers on the Wind
Wendy

I hope I don't see any more poop for a long time.

craftiladi 03-12-2011 02:42 PM

ahhh Wendy nothing sadder then sick babies, glad both mom & baby are feeling better. I have had a lung infection for almost 3 weeks now. I have a breathing machine that i have to stay on most of the day but just the last few days I can actually feel this stronger dose of antinotics starting to kick in. Left really good to get up and get a few thing done today but boy the energy level is way down. I have done some hand work since taking sick but most days just didn't feel like doing anything...don't wish this on anyone.
