What to do with these fabrics
1 Attachment(s)
A friend gifted these to me, but I'm not sure of what to make of them. They're really 'not my bag', nor my friends' either. She is cleaning out her sewing room, and it's not as if I need more - mine needs an overhaul too.
The fabrics are brown on cream, with some blue, pink and dull ash-green. There are aprox 2yds of each - British Heritage Collection by Makower All suggestions will be taken on board, and I was considering a OBW. Thanks for your thoughts |
Sorry, it's late here and I can't think, What is a OBW???

Looks like a cheater quilt, almost, but where you cut the pieces (sashing, boarder, block panels) apart and put it back together.
|
Why not make bags with the large squares and stripes for handles. . They would also make plate mats or table runners, nice big ones. IT doesn't have to be a quilt.

Obw. One block wonder

Dottymo - I had thought of placemats, and the table-runners and bags idea is good. Am in need of some for grocery shopping, as the cheap ones I have are disintegrating.
Knitette - Thanks for the link, I do so like that quilt. I would need to find more fabrics that will match the colours. ps. forgot to say the background is not white in these fabrics, it's a heavy cream, and the colours are darker. |
Did you check their website for free patterns??

That's a beautiful pattern! And so is the fabric!

I am in a bit of a mood today - so
If you don't care for them - why try to figure out something to do with them? Pass them on or put them in a corner. |
