I like these. [QUOTE=Prism99;7465378]I was wondering if the corduroy would rag also, but I found some websites that mention using it in rag quilts with no problem. Here's one, but there are others: [url]http://www.minneapolismqg.com/2012/09/quilting

I love your fabrics! I'm not a big fan of rag quilts. These are such lovely colors and plaid, I think they would respond to a simple elegant piecing pattern. Chevron?

I love the fabrics! I think the corduroy and the flannel would shrink at different rates--I've even noticed that sometimes flannel shrinks more in one direction than the other so I would definitely pre wash.

I love your fabrics! I agree with the QBers who suggested simple alternating blocks, either matched seams or brick style. That plaid needs to shine and it would be regrettable to cut it up into small pieces.

My first thought, also, was rag quilt. In fact, I had 2 smallish pieces of fabric (identical except one blue and the other red) of an odd slightly fuzzy texture. It's fairly heavy fabric and I'd had it for many years. Eventually I bought a GO cutter and a rag die for it and made a nifty lap quilt for my husband. I alternated the red & blue fabrics with squares of denim ... all the old jeans that I'd saved for years; no batting & fuzzy blanket for the backing.

A simple four patch would be lovely and cozy and it ties well.

A friend and I collaborated on a rag quilt a few years ago for a basset hound rescue. We had mini wale corduroy, flannel and brushed corduroy. It was beautiful and heavy.

Thanks, everyone for your ideas! I don't think I'm going the rag quilt idea, I don't want to lose an inch of the corduroy by testing it. I agree that the flannel plaid needs to shine. And I like the idea of a "brick lay" pattern for the cord, that would really set it off. Very good point about prewashing the flannel, I had forgotten about that!
I'll post a pic when I get it finished. I'm currently working on a quilt for my dad so it may be a while.
Thanks again!!
