"Studio" sounds businesslike or art-oriented to me.
I think it depends on how you feel about what you are doing there. "Downstairs" is what my area is - a mainly unfinished basement - but the walls are painted and I have carpeting. |
I just call it the sewing room, a friend of mine calls her the "she shed".
|
Sewing room, but really it is the whole 2nd floor of my house! Two bedrooms and a loft. Mostly packed with boxes stuffed with fabric bought and given to me over the years.
|
Calling it "My Playroom" sounds good to me. We do a lot of playing in that room.
|
I call mine the Craft Room, in the third bedroom. It was originally used for scrapbooking & contains all the large scrapbooks I’ve filled in the dozen or so years I participated in that craft. I didn’t knit, crochet, or quilt then. Now I do all three fabric/yarn activities. My yarn stash is so large, though, it’s in the third bedroom, which also has a guest bed. I call that one the Yarn Room!

Sewing studio is what I call mine.

The first time we looked at this house, Rob said "Quilt Room" when we walked in that room. Always has been and I expect it always will be. That was in 1990 and I could happily live in there...
It isn't what we call it, it is how we use it. If it is simply a depository for fabric, you could hardly give it any name other than black hole |
I call it my sewing room. I just snatched another bedroom to add a new cutting table. I can see where I'm slowing going to have two sewing rooms :D
|
The dining room. :D
|
Upstairs, and yes, the entire upstairs is for my sewing stuff. it's only two rooms and the small one has my stash.
- the Long Arm is in the Machine Shed, as are about 80 other sewing machines. |
