I helped cut fabric for a group that makes quilts for Alzheimer patients. They were using all kinds of textured fabrics including corduroy. They said the patients like to rub and feel the quilts - it helps calm them and give them comfort.

Yes, we have very cold winters. My new Stainglass quilt for our king size bed is cotton, cotton batting, and yes, I backed it with polartec polar fleece. OMG it is a monster to FMQ that I am doing it in 3 stages. My shoulders are killing me draging that through my Juki that I have to have a vacation after each stage (done 2 already). I will definitely make it in some quilts when I get the chance.

I have an UFO that is a denim quilt. When I find the time, I may just get that one done, since I have a better machine that will handle the Denim now. That would make a great backing for it.

I use it to make pickup truck quilts. My grandsons and their friends like to carry a lap quilt that is tough, and matches their truck. When I am out of used jeans, I use cordory to back the squares of an expose frayed seam quilt.

I just made a cart seat cover for kids and used it as the outside fabric. Very sturdy

I love clothing made from it. I used to have some suits(jacket/skirt or pants) when I worked in town in the 60's. Always got so many compliments on them. Jumpers/vests are pretty too. Kids clothing, pillows, toys.

As for me only, the last thing I would make is a pair of pants with cordoroy! I made some once but with my thighs and the constant zzzziiipp, zzzziiippp of the wales (whales? lol) rubbing together...I thought I was going to start a fire! I knew better than to even try to sneak up on someone!
