I use mine for simple basic block quilts....no batting needed and I use flannel for backing. Or reverse the procedure....use flannel blocks, no batting and use the cordoroy for the backing. I have not tried FMQ on these but have a wonderful friend tie them.

I have a gorgeous quilt my grandmother made from corduroy. She made one for each of her children and grandchildren. it has no batting. She embroidered around each block with decorative stitching. The embroidery also acts as the quilting.

If you want to do a denim quilt with old blue jeans you could use it as the backing.

I've used cordroy as a backing. Depending on the nap size it will make the quilt very warm. Depending on the size of the quilt it can be very heavy. But its napp depending on its heigth can give a top the same depth and variations of color you fine in a fannel, and pile polyester throws. Try wall hangings with a few pieces to test yourself with its handling.

Nancy Zeiman did a show about a bunch of quilters who make quilts (lots of textures) for blind children. I love that idea.

make a tactile quilt - one made with several different textures - colors don't have to match and simple shapes will do - then donate it to an organization such as the Lions and they can raffle it off and make money for the blind- lions helpm get glasses for those who cannot afford them

They do make great neck pillows like the dog bone type. They don't slip out from behind your head. Nice for the car...well only as a passenger!

Wow...that quilt is beautiful! I love the bright colors of the corduroy in it! What a treasure it must be! Thank you for sharing.
