I replaced a lot of my Omnigrids with Olfa Frosted Advantage rulers and gave the old ones to a friend. She put them on the "Free" table at her guild.

I bought the Slide Lock when they were only available through Australia years ago. I forgot what it was called but it wasn't Slide Lock then. The AU company let a US company have the right to sell it some years ago. The ruler was initially sold for safety. I had a close call with a rotary cutter and never want a bad accident so I use a safety tool with every cut. I love the Slide Lock. It is very versatile. Use it hold your ruler down, the fabric down, to smooth out the quilt sandwich, or to mark long straight lines on quilt tops with no movement.
