I started working on a rag quilt I had started back in January or feb but the more I work on it I realize I don't like the fabric I chose for it and not sure I want to continue working on it or add the fabric to my scrappy quilts stash. What do you do when you find yourself in this situation?

I gift it to either a local quilting group or someone who wants projects to finish - fabric, even stuff I have grown to HATE - is far too expensive for me to just throw away....Someone will want to finish it and either use it or donate it to charity.

Unfortunately, I find it difficult to complete a project I no longer like ... it sort of stays "in progress" forever. I am very thankful it doesn't happen very often.

I'm ashamed to admit that I have a project like this. I call it a UFO. It's been sitting in a box for the last 8 years. Never join a block of the month unless you absolutely love the fabric the store has chosen. I've more or less decided to repurpose the fabric. The only problem is the fabric pieces are so dang small....what's a girl to do?

I included the pattern and all supplies necessary to finish it, so it is sort of a "kit." Our guild has fabric that members can take to make charity quilts and my kits have been taken by someone and finished. I know they got finished because they were shown at "show and tell."

Just in case that would work for you...

How did you feel to see "what you had sowed" grow into a whole, finished quilt?

I think I'm going to cut my losses and just put the leftover fabric in my scrap box.

I did the same thing and it did feel liberating- it was butt ugly!
