Any suggestions on what kind of quilt I could make with them that would lessen the ugly when mixed together with the other scraps and remnants I have? Is there a particular pattern any of you use to make something worthwhile from fabric you just aren't crazy about? HELP!

Turning 20 doesn't need to match or look good together. IMO!

I've got to finish up the baby quilt I did with HappyNana's pinks, browns and limes. Surprising results!

Maybe finish this week.

For the last two years, we had an Ugly Fabric contest on the QB. After looking at the pics there, I decided that I have no ugly fabric.

make chairty quilts for the homeless shelters. they aren't picky about the colors. you could cut them inn 4 inch squares, make a nine patch and stitch in the ditch. you could make 2 lap quilts in a weekend.
send it my way and I will make pillow case "little dresses for Africa" or you could look up Ami Simms on the internet in flint Michigan and go on her alzeheimers site and donate. I heard her talk this past week end and she is great. A Great quilter from the 80's and still going strong.

I don't know what your stash looks like, but if it is sizable at all you have two choices. 1) take the challenge to use it up (half square triangles with a neutral fabric) 2) Donate it to someone and consider it a cheap lesson. I would do the latter as I don't have time to work with fabric I really don't like anyway. If I spend all that time and still don't love it, either it won't get finished or I will be mad that I spent all that time and still don't like it.

They are probably not ugly. Just not your style. Lots of fabrics that are replicating 70s stuff is ugly to me, but lots of other folks love them.

Three choices - give them away or cut up into a larger scrap quilt. You are under no obligation to use them all at the same time. Third choice - use as backing for wall quilts.

My latest scrap quilt has the rest of the 'alien snot' that I received as part of an uglies swap. Since everybody in my family knew about the alien snot fabric, they go out of their way to look for it in various scrap quilts (it really was ugly).

I agree that if you cut the fabric small enough, you won't know it was ugly to begin with. I suggest adding your other scraps and cutting into 2" or 2.5" strips -- make a scrappy strip quilt.
