I'm with gayer, I make all kinds of little projects for gifts as she does, it is lots of fun as well as rewarding to come up with something cute enough to give as a gift!

Sorry nayzer, my I pad does not like the way I write and tries to correct it for me!

Lately I've been crocheting with strips of leftovers and uglies.

mine too have babies, if it's a really small piece I give them to my quilting buddy who like to sew small pieces. I have TONS and TONS of scraps and steady buy more fabric. I'm hoard up fabric for when I retire and don't have any money. I have been known to threw them away. I get tired of the same scraps. When I attended the quilt retreats we used to fill a wal mart bag with scraps and swap them.
|
Mostly cut mine in strips and hang on hanger in closet. Also keep odd sizes of ones that may be used for applique on a shelf or in a tote.
|
the teensy pieces go to a lady at my quilt guild that uses them to stuff doggy beds for our local Humane Society.
|
i make a bag out of them first, then i put all really small scraps in bag as i go along. put one bag in dog crate for bed and this nex t one thinking of using it for grand d to use for chair. can be washed and dryed...

I have made woven rugs ,placemats and just finished two spiderweb quilts they are adictive. But,i think when you use scraps it seems to make even more...i started with one bag and now i have three...?
|
My trimmings and small scraps now go to a lady who is stuffing 'sleeping bags' for the homeless. Now it's not as hard to part with a small scrap knowing that it has a good purpose!

Before I ever started quilting, I got strip scraps from my mom and tied them around a wire wreath form (one with four rows of wire) It now hangs on an old window frame in my family room.
