I embroidered pillow cases and sheets for each of the children (6) for CHRISTmas one year. I also take a pretty piece of fabric and make neat little decorations with sayings for friends and place them in a wooden embroidery hoop. Then I surround the hoop with lace or decorative trim and it makes a cute little trinket for them to put on their wall. I also embroider initials on table napkins and handkerchiefs.

I love how you can quilt all 3 layers.

i've put messages on items for my kids and granddaughters, made doll quilts, labels for the backs of quilts, messages for the front of quilts, even used it to embroider flowers on silks for a crazy quilt. lots of uses. i have even (quilted) with embroideries. :thumbup: only your imagination is the limit. if you can imagine it, you can create it :)

I make mostly crib/lap quilts with my machine embroidery.
There are so many baby/children designs available.
For the crib quilts a design pkg for 4 X 4 designs work into great blocks. For the lap quilts the 5 X 7 design pkg is great.
Theres always enough designs to make enough blocks for a quilt. theres so much versitility to piece them into really cute quilts for family or gifts. And I use one of the designs for a cute label for the back.

My lucky sister has a Husqvarna (I don't remember which model). I'm her lucky sister, because she lets me use it! :o) She made this cowboy themed fleece throw for my grandson. I like how she braided the edges...better than the usual knots. We made fleece scarves for Christmas presents that turned out really nice too. I would have posted more pix, but not sure how to add more in one post.

These sites carry all the formats for all embroidery machines. They also keep your history of ordering so if you change machines that use a different format, you can then download the designs you have already purchased in the new format.

I made this wall hanging for my MIL. A gazillion stitches but a lot of fun. My machine will take any format but the hoop size is just a tad under 5x7. I am getting good at using the resizing feature though. Christmas decorations, wall hangings, quilts, FSL of different types, t-shirts, purses, jackets I've embroidered on anything I can get onto my hoop and has a spot that looks bare. :wink:

Thanks everyone, that was very helpful. Now, I am starting to think outside the box. Normally, that is something I can do, but I just became dumbfounded with this embrodiery tool. Love all the information shared here, that is what makes this forum so great! Will post some pics when I get productive!
