After years of using a straight, wooden dining room chair, my DH gave me a very nice, padded Horn chair for Christmas. I absolutely LOVE it!

I use a heavely padded office chair both at the computer and the sewing machine. I press a lot so I get up a lot. I have my iron at the other end of the room. I don't sit for more that 10 minutes, I think. I am always going to the board or pressing or something.

I use to have a small ironing table right near my sewing machine, but then read you should get up and move ever so often, so have gone back to the regular ironing board a few feet away, so that I force myself to move
Also, just got a chair from Staples that has THREE adjustment controls for height, back and seat, that is SOOOOOO wonderful, that I want to sew even more! (if that is possible!)
It was less than the "sewing" chairs and more adjustments.
Also, don't have to put the arms on this model. (can't sew with elbows hitting arm of chairs!!)
:?

I have a Horn sewing chair that is adjustable in 6 ways. I love it!

I have a desk chair at my Janome, and an antique oak desk chair at my treadle...the antique chair is perfect because people were shorter then, and hence the furniture was shorter...it's a perfect height for the treadles...

I use a computer chair that is nicely padded. I bought it at a thrift shop for ten bucks. I was having a lot of problems with body aches until I got this chair. I can adjust the height which helps out a lot. It has wheels but it sits on carpet and it doesn't move even when I need it too.

I sit in a plain black office chair that I removed the back from, looks like a Dr.'s stool in the exam room. I sit very straight and keep my weight balanced on both cheeks. So far no aching butt! I sit wrong one long sewing session and had pain for a week. I won't do that again.
