I use a metal tackle box with an accordion drawer. I love it and it has traveled many miles with me.

I had an ugly mustard color plastic sewing box for years until I bought my home. Now I have no sewing box, just one room full of fabric, and one room for sewing machines, ironing board, cutting table, etc.

I have a sewing 'box' (bag) for each type of craft I am doing. Example: Paperpiecing, applique, crocheting, beading, EPP, etc. My goal is to be able to pick up my 'sewing box' and be able to travel with it. All I need now is a Bewitched nose to put everything in reasonable order.

my traditional-style sewing box is filled with my smocking stuff. the rest of my stuff is in plastic boxes-like the ones you use to store scrapbooking paper. I have some for precuts, one for ribbons, another for smaller templates.

I wanted to post a picture of mine. I love this tool box, I wish I had three more just like it.

I have drawers in my sewing cabinet. There is plenty more nearby, because I sew a lot of different things.

I don't have a sewing box or bag. I have my sewing things in drawers in base cabinets in my sewing room.

I retired my sewing basket when I stopped mending clothes and started making quilts. Now most of my small sewing things are kept in Whitman Sampler tins. Buttons, machine needles, hand needles, perle cotton, laces, beads, fancy threads, rotary cutter blades, marking pencils, and other 'smalls' all live in their own tin in one of the 'legs' of my work table. A second leg is in process. The fun part is getting rid of the chocolate whenever Whitman comes out with a new Sampler tin. :o
