Lots of food info here, I have a Brother ULT2001 which has been an awesome machine, but it is getting very tired. Still holds its own, but my dealer keeps reminding me that its 'tired'. Ive used it ALOT

Last Christmas my husband gave me a Baby Lock Sofia 2. It has a 4x4 hoop and is just perfect for my needs. I think you'll find that you do a lot more than labels with it. I love mine.

I have a Brother PC6500. 5x7 field. I love the Brother embroidery machines for the ease of use and beautiful embroidery. Brother has been making commercial embroidery machines for years - they know their stuff.

If you want stand alone embroidery look at the Brother 770 or the Janome 350 series. Both are great machines with a lot of positive reviews from real life users. Go to Pattern Review dot com and look up embroidery machine reviews.

mIne is a Janome 10001 but a lot more than you are willing to pay. Like others said, then you need thread, lots of it, stabilizer. usb cord to down load designs from the computor because all designs are not on the machine. It is an expensive hobby. But I have been doing it for a long time.

I've got a Memorycraft 100001, started off on the older version and kept trading it in, love it as its my main machine for sewing, piecing and up until last week quilting too and then I can embroider the kids napkins, t shirts, jumpers, labels etc etc and use it to embroider quilt blocks.

I have a brother ULT2003 and am thinking of parting with it. I don't use it like it should be used and they have changed it now that you can't get floppies! I have the writer with it but I am electronicially numb!
