Last year I sold lots of sets of 2 receiving blankets and 2 burp clothes folded up pretty and tied with a ribbon. Also individual receiving blankets, burp clothes, portable changing pads, and accessories for babies. They all went over really well. It was a first for me, I usually sell hand thrown pottery. But my daughter had a baby the year before (along with a lot of her friends)and I noticed how skimpy and expensive the store bought items were and ended up making a lot for shower presents. When a neighbor asked me to join her in a booth, it was the quickest thing I could make and they really sold well.

I will often buy those kitchen towels that have either crochet or some method of allowing them to be hung from the oven...

Insulated lunch bags!! Great gifts for anyone; kids, teens, college bound and/or adults....can be personalized, classy or fun to tote around your lunch or snack! Just google for lots of free patterns. :thumbup:

Te "snap bags" are always a big hit at my church fair. I buy the tape measures at the dollar stores, so they are really cheap to make. I don't remember if they sold for one or two dollars, but kids love them for their Moms. Every year the guild asks me to make them and aprons and potholders. I believe they sell out every year.

Small items are great, especially baby/child items! I know as a parent I would easily pass over something I like in favor of something for my son or daughter.

I love reading this post. How about pillowcases? Nylon scrubbies? I agree probably items under $10.00 would sell best.

When my Grandson was born I made one of those shopping cart covers for them. They also work on high chairs when you are eating out. I think those would go over really well. I bought the pattern in Simplicity or McCalls and it works great.

Tote bags made from feed sacks. (not paper ones) Don't know the correct name for the material they're made from. We used to raise chickens. Made a tote bag to carry my handquilting projects & everyone comments on it.

Also, crochet cotton wash rags.

Little zippered coin purses and checkbook covers always catch my eye. I just noticed as I was googling that they are trendy and called "dumplings." CUTE!
Agree on the hot pads and/or potholders (large mitts!)
