I save all scraps and never use them all but donate them to schools art dept. The teachers are thrilled to get them.

I think this is really the quickest, easiest way to use a lot of leftover triangles. And very pretty, too!

I save most of my scraps and cut offs if they are a decent size. Here are two quilts I used them for the borders. Both patterns came from Quiltville. Others are still in a tote waiting to be used in the future. Maybe a pillow????

This 1st one is her Pineapple Blossom. I used the corner cutoffs to add some pizzazz to the borders. The 2nd one is the Boxy Stars and I used the tiny little cutoffs to add an additional smaller border. Its on the frame now waiting to be quilted.

Thanks, everyone for all the great ideas. I save them too, but haven't done anything with them yet.

They end up being 2.5" and play nicely in a nine patch with plain blocks. I am not sure what I am going to do with the nine patches but they will be easier to deal with than the smaller blocks. I have been saving the trimmings in a baggie to give back to her - lol.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha that's cute! Then she will be asking "what can I make with dog ears"

Mug rugs would be a Great Small Project to use the smaller pieces... I like this one shown... can be done in any color..

Isn't it amazing what quilters can do with some scrap material pieces?? Such beautiful quilts come out of a pile of material that would otherwise be thrown away. Great work my fellow quilters!!

I think these small HSTs make great leaders and enders projects. Just keep a pile of them near the machine and sew them into 2s, then 4s, etc. next thing you know, you just might have you a quilt going on.
Smiles and hugs!

I, also, use mine as leaders & enders & end up with stars in different sizes. That way I don't waste tossing the bits & thread away. You wouldn't believe how much thread gets cut off & tossed when you don't do this.
