I tried saving them, I really did, but then I never did anything with them, so I no longer bother. I have so many projects on my "Roundtoit List" that I wouldn't make anything with them in a very long time, and I don't know what I would do with them anyway. More power to those of you who do save the cut off triangles, I admire you for being so creative.

I love the ideas for the mini quilts!

I use the Eleanor Burns method, and I don't use a special ruler.

When I designed this quilt, it did not have the little HST inner border. But after making all those stars with flying geese, I had a huge pile of little triangles. Started sewing them together to see how they would look, and decided to make that inner border out of them. Hubby took this picture Saturday at Billings Farm Museum in Woodstock VT where it is currently on display.

When I make flying geese that way I usually take the little triangles and make a doll quilt. Our Salvation Army collects them to give as Christmas gifts to 7 year old girls. Each girl gets doll (like an American Girl doll) with 2 outfits and a quilt.

Such creativity is inspiring! All these various options now to consider :) And they all turned out super.
Lynn - your quilt is wonderful! Are the dragonflies appliqued? Do you have more pics or is there another thread for it?

I'm working on a project between projects that is giving me lots of little HST's. I like the idea of incorporating them into the border. I'm constantly amazed and impressed by the creativity of the quilters here!
