What I did while FMQ yesterday.

I made a scrappy quilt which allowed lots and lots of strings, lint and debris (pests) to gather on the quilt top. Before I started to FMQ, I had to "pick" the nested area to avoid stitching over these pests. Finally decided it was easier to run my lint roller to clean the nest where I wanted to quilt. And I didn't need to remove my gloves!!

When the quilting was done, the top had very few pests remaining. Next time, I will run the lint roller over the entire top after pin basting and while it is flat. Now off to the dollar store to get another lint roller.

..I always use a lint roller on the top before quilting (L/A)..... For any stray threads.....but I have the kind that has that funny fabric stuff on it, not sticky paper, so I just rub in the opposite direction and get a fuzz ball to remove.....

I bought what I thought was one lint roller and it came with EIGHT. I thought they will last me a lifetime, NOT! I've used those things to clean off any and everything including my shirts while making a quilt. :) Recently I did a backing with flannel, boy did they ever come in handy! Love those things!

I also have a couple. One by the quilting frame, and one by my sewing machine. I try and get the little snips of thread as I iron, but it's amazing what I pull off as I quilt!

I, too, have one that I use on quilts.

I always keep a lint roller in my sewing room as well as near my quilt machine as it never fails, lint will find its way onto the sandwich. The batting is worse at collecting lint and since I don't have a batting bar on my frame I'm constantly checking as I advance. Nothing like finding a dark thread in the middle of your quilt after its been quilted.

I have a lot of them and I buy the refills when JAF has those 50% coupons and everything is one sale but them !!

I have a lint roller in every room including the bathroom. I always know where the spare is.

They are also good to pick up the tiny threads left in the seam line when "unsewing"
