1. Do not leave your design board unattended when your son is home visiting and decides to turn a rotating fan on. (Unless you have every single piece pinned down!) GRRrrrrr. I will be hours putting my quilt back together!

2. It costs a lot of money to have a plumber come to the house to remove the marrow bone the puppy dropped into the flush! $250 worth of a learning experience! Just think of the fabric I could have bought :(

After the "#*!* " hit the fan

Waiting for me to turn my back again!

They both gave me the "old sad eye look"....couldn't do it. LOL

cjomomma 07-12-2010 12:25 PM

Lol. I so know those looks.

mlcasada 07-12-2010 12:26 PM

My brother, who is forever doing crazy things that cost him an arm and a leg, says, "Education ain't free!"

I hate to admit it, but he's right! LOL! That's why I have scrap boxes full of "dumb mistakes" fabric pieces!

Laura1557 07-12-2010 12:33 PM

What if you closed your eyes? ;)

I'd be so not happy!

craftybear 07-12-2010 01:05 PM

That is terrible, hope you get your quilt back up on your design wall soon.

Sorry to hear about the dog, be sure to close the lid on toilet.

Expensive lesson

Boston1954 07-12-2010 01:11 PM

I have to put the lid down when I go shopping and leave the kitties inside to enjoy the air conditioning. They knocked over a small standing shelf unit (with extra TP on it) one roll landed in the toidy. I found out it is VERY absorbent.

It is amazing how much water TP can soak up isn't it??? :) Ask me how I know LOL

RevPam 07-12-2010 01:30 PM

What a beautiful WIP! At least you have the 'before the storm' picture to guide you through the rerun!

clem55 07-12-2010 01:30 PM

Love the quilt "before" and the dog is so pretty and innocent looking.LOL

and I have given "Thanks" several times already that I have those before pictures for the restructuring! :)

sewmuchmore 07-12-2010 01:46 PM

I think I might have cried. It is going to be one gorgeous quilt.

cwessel47 07-12-2010 01:49 PM

Just be really glad you took a picture before the **** hit the fan! I have found taking pictures at different stages to be a life saver!

sidmona 07-12-2010 02:03 PM

All I can say is "OH NO!" :( Glad you had the before picture and the puppy does look so innocent.

Luv Quilts and Cats 07-12-2010 03:02 PM

Sorry for the mishaps! I hope you have a much better day tomorrow!

well.....I've certainly learned not to say "it can't get worse" :)
and Sidmona......she does look innocent doesn't she?? Boy, does she have us all fooled. Can't take my eyes off her when she gets in a mood.

Suzanne57 07-12-2010 04:09 PM

With before picture in hand, I think I'd be making a certain person who turned on the fan put all the pieces back in place. As for puppy, all you can do is what was suggested, keep the lid down. I have to--just to keep the dog from drinking the blue water!

dungeonquilts 07-12-2010 04:31 PM

You were not having a good day....Hope you are able to put that beautiful quilt pieces back in order (which I am sure you will :) Beautiful dog Have a good day tomorrow and a very happy week. What can we say when it is all over with "We gotta love um"

Sadiemae 07-12-2010 04:33 PM

I can relate. I learned that I need to find the spot outside for the sewer. Last time the man had had to go from the roof which made it much more expensive. I still haven't found it.

C.Cal Quilt Girl 07-12-2010 04:34 PM

Oh... No... But on the bright side son will have more appreciation of what goes in it after he gets to help put back together the puzzle, If I recall this is for your DD, yeikes!!! He & dog both in the dog house. X2
Hard not to be upset, don't know if feel sorrier for you or son !!! :)

Great idea.....except he turned the fan on as he was leaving to return to RI. He thought it was a little warm upstairs when he was packing up. He really did feel bad :) and I didn't want him leaving with me mad. Won't see him again for another 4mths! And as Ccalquilt girl said....it's for my DD....."yikes" is right....I need to fix this before she returns home this weekend for her visit and she sees it. Wow.....good thing her brother won't be in the house. LOL Been a long time since I've had to referee one of their battles!

Minnisewta 07-12-2010 04:48 PM

SittingPretty 07-12-2010 04:53 PM

It was so pretty before! It's a good thing you took a picture of it before so you can remember just how you had it.

littlehud 07-12-2010 06:36 PM

What a day. Does your son have big brown eyes too.

doglover 07-12-2010 06:50 PM

Did you just want to go back to bed?
doglover

annette1952 07-12-2010 07:01 PM

I know I would of been upset too but things happen. We just have to grin & bare it sometimes. So sorry you had such a trying day.

Blue Bell 07-12-2010 07:03 PM

Oh, my gosh!

CarrieAnne 07-12-2010 07:23 PM

Oh, no!!!!!!!!!

wvdek 07-12-2010 07:33 PM

Oh my. How old is son? He would have been helping me.

Umm, close the lid then pooch puppy can't drink out of it and drop whats in his mouth. By the way, nice Shepherd. Haven't seen one that nice since going to a police show with them parading around. How old? Four and a half months?

Lori L 07-12-2010 08:08 PM

Patti.....my son has big baby blues...which he learned how to use years ago. LOL

CoyoteQuilts 07-13-2010 04:00 AM

At least you had a 'before' picture! I am never that lucky.

quilter1 07-13-2010 04:04 AM

How can you get mad at those ears!! LOL

MISHNJIM 07-13-2010 04:25 AM

OMG!!!! I'm crying with you. That is a beautiful quilt, lots and lots of pieces...OMG!!!

0tis 07-13-2010 08:13 AM

Well I always say laughter if the the best medicine. Sigh!!!

mlaceruby 07-13-2010 08:15 AM

This is why the toilet lid is always down
and the design wall has a vinyl overlay!

aorlflood 07-13-2010 08:25 AM

I showed the quilt pictures to my DH and he wants to know if the son that turned on the fan is still alive...because if he is, DH wants to come live there...cause he KNOWS I would have KILLED the culprit! LOL
