I have a pair of the Ginger little black nippers velcroed to the front of my sewing machine. This way they are always within reach when I am sewing. I have a second pair I put in my little "binding" bag which holds binding clips, thread, a couple needles and such.

I also vote for Gingher.

What are nippers? Some people call nail clippers nippers LOL.

The nippers are the little "snips" that have a spring on them. They are wonderful for clipping threads and such. Not big enough to cut fabrics with.

I finally found the pair of nippers I was looking for. I love them. I had bought a cheap pair, which didn't cut worth a d...
Then I bought a pair of Fiskars, then a Gingher. I hated them all. The cheap pair I ended up throwing out and returned the other two. The only cut on certain places on the blade. I looked online and I found a website http://www.threadandmore.com/default.asp who had the same type as I had originally bought. They are so sharp I ended up buying 2 pairs and they are less than $5.00. I hung mine on ribbon (my sister-in-laws idea) around my neck as I keep losing them. They are the best I have ever seen. I was so excited about finding them that I told my LQS about them and they are going to order them for the shop. The item is Thread Snips (THS-200) from the Threads and More website. Check them out, you won't be sorry. |

I have the thread snips you are talking about. I can use just about any snips. I have several different kinds and use them all. Depends on what is closest to my hand.

I keep mine on a ribbon around my neck when I am sewing. Otherwise I lose them down the side of the chair, under the fabric, left on the ironing board, etc.
