What kind of "nippers" do you use?

Years ago I bought a wonderful pair of nippers, all silver. They work great and cut so easily.
Recently I tried buying a second pair. One for upstairs where I sew, one for downstairs where I do any hand basting, sewing buttons, etc.
I tried a cheap pair but they wouldn't even cut thread. Yesterday I upgraded to Fiskars, which honestly are not much better. They work only if you happen to cut at the tip.
Does anyone know of a good pair?

I lost my Gingher snips! They were the best. I left them on the ironing board at a class and when I went back to get them they were gone. The instructor told the class to look around their area in case they were picked up by mistake. Didn't get them back. I am waiting for the next big quilt show I go to buy a new pair and I'm having my name engraved on them by a jeweler.
Fons and Porter's tiny red handle scissors are very sharp and I like those for snipping threads on the quilt top, the blunt ends help to not snip the fabric.

I use a pair of Heritage "nippers". I love my Gingers for the larger scissors but these nippers are spring loaded and open easily and well as are a clean cut the entire length of the short blade. Mine also came with a lanyard for my neck. Here is a link to one I found on line.
