I use my computer chair that is on wheels and has arms.

I've read that you shouldn't use a computer chair you should have a sewing chair. I'm interested in hearing the answer to this too.

I use an office chair. Very comfortable and easy to maneuver.

I have used my mom's old Singer bench, but I got rid of it - could barely straighten up if I sewed for more 30 minutes.

I found that an office chair with arm rests are the best for the computer but not for the sewing machine. Most that I have seen also have the arm rests as part of the package. Sit in the chair and see how it feels BEFORE you but it.

I now have new, lower bench and still use it. The seat keeps your legs apart, which makes you sit up straighter = less back and shoulder aches.

This is called a saddle chair and I think you can get them at staples. I have been considering one.
