Just curious what everyone's faves are. I usually am drawn to bright colors with modern prints and retro geometrics. Hot pinks, bright purples, turquoise, lime greens, yellows, etc. How bout you?
I am drawn to clear colors, especially purples, blues, green, cool colors and I love Floral Fabrics!!! Especially if the florals look real, like someone took a picture and reporduced that!!!
30's repos... Flowers and pastels ! Oh well EVERYTHING ! I love fabric ! LOL
30's repo, holiday prints, primitive looking fabric
I'm really "into" the 1800s stuff, the metallics, the batiks, the paisley, uh, hmmm.... I think I like a whoooooooooooooooole bunch of stuff!!
I'm drawn to reproduction fabrics, especially 1800s and 1930s.
1800s, '30s, dragon fabric, cute bugs, frogs, bright colors, all batiks, oriental, black and whites, browns and whites...i guess you could say I like it all! I'm NOT into plaids though....:-)
Cotton.....
Seriously, I have a bit of everything and I just started this stuff. It depends on who I intend on getting the quilt. |
The right shade and texture of the color I'm looking for.
Mostly smokey blues and sage greens. I'm trying to steer out of my colorphobe state. |
It seems I'm always drawn to the lodge-y fabrics, like Pine Creek Crossing or Timber Creek by Holly Taylor for Moda. And flannels....oh my gosh! I'd guess probably 2/3 of my stash is flannels. They call my name! LOL! I just love snuggling up in a nice soft flannel quilt on my couch in the winter and watching TV with my dh! As for colors...deep reds, blues, golds, creams, sage-y greens, rust. Love it. Now you've done it...I wanna go shopping! I need more cottons!
I love the 1800's repros, soft muted fabrics with a cottage feel and I love red and gold. I think mostly what ever grabs me at the moment too.
I just love the fall fabric and christmas. However I've been collecting 30's and I do alot of reproduction for history quilts. I have alot of batiks which my stash has been growing. I just love it all!!!
I love brights, certain pastels, florals, purples, pinks, blues, reds
I tend to go for the darker burgundy..greens..navy...and fall type of colors. I'm trying to break that habit and venture out of my comfort zone..oh no...now I feel the need to shop  maybe as I finish up the fabshophop..I'm sure I'll see something!
civil war, reproductions, robin pandolph, 3 sisters, blackbird designs, christmas moda is my favorite :!: :!: :D :D
I like warm colors. All the fall colors. And anything that is a soft blue.
I love bright colors, pretty little "sprigs" of flowers, patriotic prints, cat prints, maroons -- oh, heck -- I just love fabric :!: :!:
I prefer tiny prints, all colors. I love white on white and white on cream too.
Great question. I am attracted to 1930's Reproduction, modern fabrics ala Heather Bailey and Any Butler, and last but not least, Shabby Chic type florals and patterns.
I like brights, batiks, leaf prints. Tend to run the other way from plaids.
As they say on the home dec shows on TV -- my taste is eclectic. A little bit of this and a little bit of that. Unfortunately, when I try to pull from my stash, there is always something missing. Usually the medium value. And then of course, that means a trip to the fabric store. Aw, shucks!
My favorites all tend to be a creamy off white background with smaller flowers, I especially like the multi colored flowers, in one print.
I love all fabric, but I'm gravitated to batiks. They tend to speak to me the most......buy me, buy me, buy me! :D
P.S. And I do!!! |
Mainly florals, but I need to get out of that habit!
Right now I want every thing. My stach is so low I just can't match up to do another quilt top.
I am like minstrel I like the lodge and wilderness but then a bright green will call me LOL
I keep thinking about the bright green with red lady bugs on it I saw at Joanns hmmm wish they did internet sales. Amarillo is 90 miles away  |
My favorite color has always been blue. A few years ago I made 3 very large all blue Trips Around the World. Now whenever I walk into a store I head there first. I did not think about it at first. But when I realized it I had to pull myself to the other colors. I do like green and beige so I concentrate on them also.
As far as the prints.........I like things that are not in straight lines. (in case I get sloppy with my cutting). Cute prints like doggies, or things like that. |
I love muted floral.
But what I always look for is green. I have such a hard time finding anything pretty in green. It's like the manufactures come up with pretty patterns and designs for every other color  I love repos - I'm doing a dresden plate in 30's repos and then I'm going to be making a DJ in Civil War repos. |
I also love dark fall colors, (Maybe that has to do something with I was born on the first day of fall ;) )
I love reproduction fabrics, and blues and dark greens. I do not like pastels, but other then that I love almost everything. |
I worked with some luminaries and loved them!!! I would love to have more. Maybe when I am out of fabric!
Kyia |
Let's see, yep, I love them all. But when I enter a quilt shop the thing that really grabs me is unusual fabrics. I have picked out some really "weird" stuff, but they often make cool quilts.
I like the 1800s stuff a lot. I also love bright, clear colors paired with white.
I love the pastels and the small prints!

I automatically head for the black/white prints, then head for the patriotic fabrics. After that, it's on to bright colored flowers on a black background. I also avoid anything with (supposedly) straight lines on it, since I know from experience they won't be straight when I get done with them and I hate to see the wobbles.
I like most things except novelty prints. I went through a 1930's stage, but I am done with that. I don't care for Thimbleberries - they all look alike to me.
I am drawn to CW reproduction fabrics and Kansas Troubles Quilters fabrics. I like deep rich colors. BUT, I also have a stash of 30s repros, black and whites, blue and yellows, I spy, etc. I have even collected some hot pink, orange and yellow batiks that I am going to step out of my comfort zone and use in a quilt! There is NO telling at any given time what I might be buying!
I have a serious addiction to batiks of all kinds.
I am like Extreme Quilter. I am drawn to batiks. When I make a quilt I go to them first.
I like fabrics that have textural designs not necessarily flowers or whatever. I like it to have movement. I don't use solids at all. I would rather use a tone on tone. But mostly it depends on what type of quilt I am making. I don't do a lot of traditional quilts. I prefer Art Quilts. Sybil |
Pinks (my FAVORITE color), patriotic prints, 1930s kids repo, and "beachy" colors.
Lynne |
I have just discovered the fusion blenders by robert kaufamn. They (all colors) are talking to me. I also have a soft spot for 30's repros and batiks. But I rally love lamost anything except maybe stripes and plaids. It all screams at me "buy, buy, buy"!
