I use distilled also, we have softened water.

Spray bottle is the only way IMO. I have NEVER had luck with any water in any iron.

I use tap water and never a problem.

I only use distilled...my iron is 15 yrs. old and going strong :)

I also use distilled water in my iron as tap water builds up calcium and plugs my iron and after time it spits out chunks of the calcium. It has stained a dark spots on my fabric.

I have a spray bottle of water on my ironing board and that is all I use. Does anyone have a shark? I have had this one since the spring and like it.

My year old Rowenta leaked within it's first month, I will never buy another. I use my spray bottle.

I have had 3 Rowentas and threw them all in the garbage for leaking pbroblems when I called the company they did not even care I was told by someone if you drain the water out of them each time you finish with them they will last longer
but I use my iron everyday and want it available all the time nonow I will only use T-Fal no problem at all
