Some Bosel fusible interfacing with 2" grid printed on it to use us some of my scraps; amazing how the seams match up. I will definitely use it again to use up all those little pieces of fabric in my stash for a postage stamp quilt. Saw a video on Shabby Fabrics demonstrating on how to use, and even a post by by Elizabeth Hartman has instructions on how to make your own fusible grid interfacing for quilting. If she uses it, then it works for me. She also stated on her post that the quilt/interfacing will soften up and separate after some washings and the quilts will become so soft you won't notice.
There are so many videos out there on how to use this but here are the two I referenced. https://elizabethhartman.com/all-pro...le+interfacing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DtLugTXU0BY |
Years ago, Joan Ford presented this as a class to our guild. The setting made a trip around the world block.
I made mine into a pillow. The seams match perfectly, but it is a LOT of clipping, lol. Enjoy the process. I like that Elizabeth Hartman shows you how to make a grid. Finding the specialty product can be tough. |
Yesterday I bought a new rotary cutter:
Missouri Star 45mm rotary cutter with a ball bearing screw design for easy rolling that minimizes shoulder strain. The reviews were great and it was the daily deal for $10. |

3lbs of assorted quilting cotton scraps and a grab bag of red threads. I love shopping A Thrifty Notion for scraps. I’m newer to quilting and haven’t made many of my own scraps yet, this enables me to do scrappy quilting!

I have the MS Brand ball bearing rotary cutter. I bought it because I like the color. LOL I have Olfa, Fiskars, Quilting Select, Clover and Dritz cutters in a basket. I reach for the Missouri Star one the most. When I change the blade I put a tiny drop of machine oil in the bearing. I took it to retreat and every one wanted to try it out.
