I use either my Juki TL 98QE w/ a dream table or my Baby Lock Jane. Both 9" throats and straight stitch only machines. I have three others but these two are my favorites.

I use my old dependable black Singer 15-91. So reliable and I keep it set up for FMQ. Love it, love it, love it.

I'm using a Viking 630 I bought off of ebay for less than $80. I already had all the 630 attachments, plus this one came with a walking foot.
It gives me NO problems, except my darning foot broke after 4 months of use. Too impatient to wait for another, I use what they call an 'open toe' foot and it works perfectly. So, I have given up on the darning foot (which worked well too)

There's a dial I use to lower the foot pressure and one to lower the feed dogs.

I am sure I am so happy with it is because my husband built an elaborate sewing table for me. It has maybe a 7" harp and so far I've been able to fmq what I want.
Somewhere I found instructions for quilting a large quilt in sections and I do use that. Like I said, the table, with its support, is probably why it all works.

Brother PQ1500S. I have to have a machine with a rotary hook for FMQ, the Brother fits the bill!

For large quilts (queen and king) I rent an APQS at a LQS and do my own quilting... for smaller projects I have a Janome 6600 which is wonderful until you have to wrestle with a large quilt.

I also have a Juki 2010Q and love it.

I use my Janome 6600. I'd like more throat space, too. But for now, I can handle up to a full sized quilt. I have a friend with a Gammill, so I borrow her machine for the really big ones! Eventually, I'd love a HQ Sweet 16.

I use my Pfaff 7550 purchased in 1996. It is the only sewing machine I have. I set it up with a FMQ foot and as long as I use a quality thread, it works great. Would love one with a longer throat but cannot afford it. Mostly what I do is lap size right now.
My husband did make a table for FMQ for me. It is made out of insulation board that is cut for my machine to sit into. The board is covered with very heavyweight plastic. That provides a surface that allowes the quilt to slide easily.

My HQ Sweet 16 sit down quilter. It's awesome.
