I have begun collecting all scraps, threads, snippets, etc. I plan to " fuse" some of my own fabric from all these ultra small scraps.

I use anything 3/4" or wider in string quilts. I use Bonnie Hunter's scrap system and the smallest I keep in that is 1.5". So that means anything 3/4"-1.5" gets put into the string box. I also keep small pieces for crumb quilts.

I'll go as small as 3/4" or a little less or up to 2 3/4". Still have to make a strip quilt - it's on my to do list.

I keep everything..If it gets to small and gets lost in the seam allowance it becomes scraps for dog beds or throw pillows. =)

1.5 except I collect selvages for a friend

I don't throw them out..I use them for stuffing!

I have a friend that weaves rag quilts and she takes all my strips. Glad to have a place for them instead of throwing them away.
