This was on the sign at our local greenway! I am so taken with it!! I can see the sixty degree star, and I am coloring what I can on my paper . .

the curves?

I have never seen this before, but I know that doesn't mean it didn't exist before I saw it!! Anybody recognize it? Have a fantastic easy way I can do it? Know where I should purchase a pattern?

much love, all of you wonderful answer-ladies!

Good luck with this design. It is lovely and will make a great quilt.

The outer row of diamonds does not fit the pattern of the other diamonds.

Only 4 black diamonds don't seem to fit - the other 2 form the points of the star.

I drew the diamonds up with light, medium and dark blues. Thanks for sharing. I suspect the artist who made this simply added the outer ring to an existing pattern...but that's my opinion.

Please keep us informed on how this goes for you. It will make a beautiful quilt.

ok - I drew it! Keep in mind, I can't tell if the Christmas tree is straight! You guys are right, that four of those dark diamonds don't 'fit'.

I am *so* glad that the general consensus is that the diamonds are all the same size! wow, that would be too much for me! I used a compass to help track where the 'off' diamonds would be . . . can you see the lines?

Figuring out how to piece the mixed diamonds would be time consuming, and error prone I think. SO - I am off to research a carpenter's star!

my next step would be to transfer the (lone?) star to graph paper . . .

LOVE this board, you bunch of geniuses you!!

I wasn't clear. The outer diamonds are not on the same plane as the inner diamonds

My opinion, too. the outer circle finishes it nicely, but isn't part of the inner design.
