I looked online...can't find the pattern name. I want to quilt it, but looking for ideas...so, willing to have you all make suggestions for quilting it also.

I have been longarm quilting since 2006, and this is the hardest part for me...what to put on the quilt.

You could do a circle pattern on the pinwheels to give movement. The squares look like there is a wheel inside also. Smaller circles there??

looks like blocks set on point. done in rows. all half square triangle blocks. one spinning and one with dark hst sections toward center of blk. easy

I recommend Angela Walters book Shape by Shape. When I get stuck I look at the shape of the blocks and go look at her designs. Since you have triangles here are a few that I quickly sketched. As for the pattern, it looks like a simple 9 patch that has been cut in half and put with a solid.

Might be an idea...maybe overlapping circles...hmmm.

This is sort of what I was thinking...my main issue is the large setting triangles in the corners...thinking straight lines like you show in #7, and maybe circles in the center squares in a square....stay geometric, but with movement... thanks to you all for ideas.

Don't know any pattern name, but it seems the maker just made 9patch blocks, cut them in half diagonally, and made pinwheel and square-in-a-square blocks.

Love the overlapping circles idea, and perhaps lots of bubbles or pebbles.

I also recommend getting Angela Walter's Shape by Shape (now 2 volumes)--some great ideas for quilting. also Amanda Murphy has a good book with quilting ideas that give specific ideas for specific blocks (Angela has ideas for specific shapes). My first glance at the picture the white in the blocks pops out and seems to be a good spot for feathers spiraling out, though it really changes up the idea of the pinwheels.

This is what I saw, too. A nine patch cut on the diagonal. As you can see, the bias of the nine patch has no points. They've all been cut off in the cutting and sewing.

I would quilt it with some sort of a circle or swirl panto.
