Mine is Candle in the Window - packaged by Kansas Troubles Quilters. |
I like the one in my avy.
|
I could never pick just one. They each have their own beauty.
|
The one I'm working on right now! :D Diamond star Log Cabin.
|
There is a quilt that was in my first book, I still want to make it. Carpenter's square. I have had 2 bolts of fabric to make it for probably 15 years. I have been waiting until I am skilled enough to make it.
|
Oh yes, there are so many that I like because of colors.
I really like "Raptureready's avator" but unless I did it in the exact colors it would defeat what I want. Been waiting to tell her that since I first saw this bd. |
My favorite is a scrap quilt made from pink, green, and white fabrics. I pieced small rail fence blocks, each with a pink, white and green strip. I used the pale pinks and pale greens on some and darker greens and darker pinks on others and put them together in kind of a colorwash fashion. It turned out too long and narrow to suit me so I cut a wide border for one side and added appliqued flowers and stems and leaves up the side and then put a dark green border around it all and it is truly beautiful. No pattern, just made it up as it went along. Everyone loves it.
|
I don't do well with patterns, I just use the general idea and put my own twist on it. But I do love stripe quilts.
|
My fav is what ever one I am working on. it is the process not the end result that is what I so enjoy.
|
All time favorite Irish and Double Irish chain along w/any variation or spin that can be put on it.
Will be working on some posey, obw, combos soon, those are really fasinating to me right now. :) |
My favorite so far is the OBW in my avatar. I still have to put borders on it and quilt it.
|
I haven't made it yet!
|
Storm at sea :D
I would love to make it again someday |

WHEN I do that quilt, and I will.... It will be blue and white. A soft, worn denium blue. I have not washed the fabric and I want it to shrink a little to look vintage.
I have too many projects on my plate to tackle that right now, have to get some done and clear them out. I also have to confess that I do not have a proper 1/4 inch foot and I will not tackle all of that strip piecing without one. |
I have 2, double wedding ring & diamond star log cabin.

My dream quilt is the Bali Wedding Ring quilt by Judy Niemeyer. I know I am not skilled enough to do it but am so tempted to buy the pattern or kit, just so I can look at the picture!
I also have a Lone Star ambition - to do in striped batiks - I even have the fabric, but haven't had time to start it yet. I never saw the Carpenters Square quilt before, I had to look it up on Google - its fantastic, is it very difficult? I can't even imagine how to break it down into blocks. |
The "Winning Hand" quilt I made for my son. It's the easier version of the "card trick" block. His was made with a black solid background and the colors really popped.
|
all the ones I have given away!
|
Mine is an Around the World all done in shades of green. Very simple design, but it just 'worked' as it grew. I hand pieced it out of 2-1/2" squares starting with the single really dark green square in the center, fading to a pale yellow green with green flowers, then deepening back to the dark green at the widest point and repeating into the corners. At the moment I'm contemplating whether or not to put a border on it. Will have to get DH or DD to take a picture of it so I can share. Tried to take pictures with my phone and my webcam, but did not show the colors anywhere near right and the angle was bad too.

Usually it is the one I am working on. My favorite baby quilt was finished last fall. I am saving it for my first grandchild! (I hope it's a girl!)

The Country Bride Quilt, totally hand appliqued and hand quilted - took me 14 months (I was employed full time, so could only work on the quilt in the evenings and weekends, which I did endlessly - I hardly ate, hardly slept).
The book/pattern is The Country Bride Quilt by Craig N. Heisey and Rachel T. Pellman, developed for the Old Country Store in Intercourse, PA (yes, that's correct) at the request of Bride's Magazine. They also developed The Country Tulip Path Quilt and The Country Basket Quilt. The patterns for these are in the same book. The originals of these quilts were quilted by the Lancaster County (PA) Amish and Mennonite women. You can see a picture of the book on Amazon and other websites (just Google it) - I haven't been able to find a picture of the full quilt, but some websites have good pictures of the book cover showing a little more detail. I made mine exactly like the book cover, same colors. It was a wedding gift for my niece. This was about 20 years ago. The book is now out of print, but is available on the internet. |
An origami flower quilt with some sashiko stitching on each
square. |
I'm working on a storm at sea with my own fabric design as I didn't buy enough when I first decided to make the quilt.
|
I am so impressed. You are obviously more creative than I am.

It looks too good to be easy.

I love the look of the Storm at Sea pattern. It's on my "to do" list of quilts to make one day.
