I'm just starting Bonnie Hunter's mystery quilt "Roll, Roll Cotton Boll". I also need to simultaneously work on my niece's wedding quilt by Edyta Star - lots of applique.

Applique snowmen that a friend gave me for my birthday. Cancer took her in Aug so really want to start searching for fab from my stash.

girlsfour 12-23-2010 05:17 AM

I too have more and more quilts to sew. What is more fun than buying fabric? The hunt is more fun than the kill I say!

jolo 12-23-2010 05:37 AM

Affairs of the Heart. Am gathering the fab.now ,finishing my 2 Dear Janes, one in blues and one is scrappy. I had to take a break from them to do 2 Christmas log cabins.Am almost finished with them . Hope to get all this done by the time we start on the Affairs. lol

Janetlmt 12-23-2010 05:53 AM

My next quilt is going to be a 1930's pickle dish..with the 1930's reproduction fabrics.

1rottendog 12-23-2010 06:05 AM

Mine is Desert Dance by J. Michelle Watts, a pattern I bought from a quilt shop in Catalina, Arizona. Making it for my wonderful stepson in Tucson.

Momma_K 12-23-2010 06:29 AM

Still have a couple more to do before Monday! After that I'd like to do something "Asian" or with Butterflies. I have a lot of gold metallic I've been wanting to use. Maybe a fan quilt. ;)

#1piecemaker 12-23-2010 06:32 AM

I think I'll try a D9P. then a Double Irish Chain. then a Log Cabin. Then a grandmothers flower basket. Ohhhhh, my list is endless!

EagarBeez 12-23-2010 06:33 AM

I just made an update to 2011 quilts and items
I am working on a bargello quilt for my niece, that still needs to be finished.
placemats and pot holders for my DD
king/queen quilts for both sisters
lap quilt and king quilt for my SIL
when that is done will ask my other SIL if she wants one. Only believe in being fair for both

I have a looooong list of things I want to do in 2011. Right now I started doing redwork for a wall hanging. It is scenes of children playing in various seasons. It comes in a one yard panel with some border designs also. It can be cut apart which is what I am doing as I will be sashing it. It is VIP fabric and nicely stamped. I am using Flower Thread for the embroidery in a red which matches the stamp color absolutely perfect. I bought the fabric at my LQS.

I will either start a scrappy one, the spiral table topper or a pineapple block wall hanging.
So, what quilt is next on your list?

I wish some of you guys would SPELL OUT a few of your abbreviations. Maybe you THINK they are UNIVERSAL, but half the time I'm not sure what you mean just by the "letters"..... Guess I might eventually learn.

reginalovesfabric 12-23-2010 07:35 AM

crayon box quilt. I have deceided to cut up all the scraps in one tub and I already have 40 blocks finished an 45 more I'm working on. This is a fast block and a great way to use up scraps. You can find it on www.quiltville.com

Merry Christmas, I'm in South Carolina playing with the g baby

purrfectquilts 12-23-2010 08:18 AM

I am starting a "Welcome" wall hanging for a friend. It was supposed to be a Christmas present but they haven't moved into their new home yet and I was behind anyway ...so just starting today. The plan in my head is a house with their name on a heart on the door, trees beside it, the word welcome in an arc over it and some kind of blocks for border. Maybe 4 patch or geese? Her colors are browns, some reds, some orange. I am going to add greens and cream to that.

Our Christmas is over, decorations all packed up and tree put away. I will be by myself, so can stitch away merrily.

When the wall hanging is finished I will go back to the Sun Bonnet Sue and finish that up.

Scissor Queen 12-23-2010 09:00 AM

I have a baby quilt up next. I had to stop and bake cookies and shop and wrap gifts to get ready for Christmas but as soon as it's over I'm getting that baby quilt done. Then I'm doing this wall hanging, http://applewd.com/BOM/page1.html but not in blue.

Then I have a pink, yellow, and orange quilt ready to go together for my oldest granddaughter, 2 square in a square quilts ready to go together for great nieces and a BOM ready to go together for the niece and nephew. After that I'm not real sure. It's whatever is in the project bins since I'm working on cleaning that up before I have to move.

Flying_V_Goddess 12-23-2010 10:19 AM

Hopefully my Wind Waker sea map wall hanging. I'm starting to prepare---bought the game and today I'm going to buy this video chip thing so I can record video of actual gameplay and then transfer it to the computer so I can get stills off it to make templates off of. Should also come in handy for the project of quilted wall hangings replicating the stained glass windows from the same game.

esobusy 12-23-2010 10:48 AM

Mine is to finish my late grandmother's top. 3/4's of the way done. Then I'll start on a block swap top that I was in about 7 yrs. (yes you see it right!) ago. Too many crisises came up after the swap ended. Did get the Christmas one tied. We had sooooooo many joined I got TWO quilt tops. "A Hole in my Heart" was my main one. (Churn Dash w/ an appliqued pink heart in the center square in honor of my late SIL who past from breast cancer. She gave me a bunch of pink hearts from a kit she had bought.

retired2pa 12-23-2010 11:17 AM

Now that the Holidays are done (almost...at least the sewing is done for this year :))...I'd like to make a quilt for our king size bed. I just can't decide on the pattern yet. I will definitely be sending it out to be quilted when (and if) I get it done...LOL

ajohn52 12-23-2010 12:21 PM

I have 4 UFOs to do the quilting on. Then I'll start the second top like my avatar but with dark purple in place of the green, then another tube quilt in dusty lavendars, greens and dark purples for my daybed, then finish the double wedding ring I started 12 years ago, want to do a string quilt or 2 or 3. Start a quilt for my GD who will graduate HS this Spring, then.......

fancifrock 12-23-2010 12:21 PM

I just started a queen size log cabin for next Christmas. Log Cabin is one that I had never done. Hope it is ready for next year as I hand quilt.

bevster 12-23-2010 12:27 PM

My next quilt is for my Son in the Air Force. He wants a Texas Flag quilt about 3'X5'. I am thinking of making it with Log Cabins blocks, I think that will look O.K. Any suggestions?

Myself I like the Log Cabins...It'll look very nice!

koko 12-23-2010 01:20 PM

I have two in mind after the holidays...Hanging Gardens and Shop Til You Melt. Of course I have to finish my GD quilt for her birthday in January which is the Hooterville Quilt Pattern.

finchelover 12-23-2010 01:30 PM

working on Snowball right now just about finished with the top I wanted to get it done by Xmas so I can give it to my daughter I don't think I will make it,then I am going to make my daughter in law a black in white I believe is Box within a Box.

Ally 12-23-2010 02:33 PM

I'm finishing a queen sized sampler quilt. The next one will be a red and white with the red being old-fashioned children (skating, bicycling, etc.) embroidery. I'm also thinking of another stack and whack.

pawebdoctor 12-23-2010 02:43 PM

I've been a stickler with planning patterns, fabric, size, etc... then matching points and squaring everything with precision. I recently discovered "liberated" quilting and that's gonna be my next adventure in quilting. Though not completely unplanned... colors will be considered... but everything else will be liberated. I'll let you know how it goes...

jme 12-23-2010 03:01 PM

right now I am working on a quilt for my daughter with a nine patch block and alternating blocks with appliqued chicks (her choice). Next is a scrappy quilt with a heart pattern for my other daughter.

Ann Marie O 12-23-2010 03:12 PM

I am going to start work on a Baltimore Album quilt - but if it never gets finished it may become a table runner, a pillow, etc. I want to do it in batiks and have been collecting my colors. Of course, I will have to do others in the meantime as I plan to take my time on this one.

maryb119 12-23-2010 03:13 PM

I usually start a new quilt on New Years Day. I don't watch football so it's good entertainment for me. I have several in mind. I don't know which one I will work on yet.

Treegal 12-23-2010 04:19 PM

need to finish something very soon before I move on ! Currently have a 4 patch on point, thanks to DMIL we knotted it in an evening while DH and DFIL played cards. Need to get the binding on and put it on the bed before it gets any colder ! Have a variation on a Dresden plate that i am hand appliqueing and have a Joann BOM in the quilt frame to hand quilt. Gosh I better get off here and get something done !

nonnie60 12-23-2010 04:20 PM

A 'trip around the world'. I started it over a yr. ago, I've only got 1/4 done so far, and got it out to finish it.

dlf0122quilting 12-23-2010 05:47 PM

Can I say APPLIQUE here without sounding too crazy? I am starting one called Siple Abundance and it is absolutely gorgeous. I am also doing an applique of a dream I had years ago when I was having a tough time of it and I dreamed of being an eagle soaring above an island and thinking that I could rise above the problems of the world and be happy. I am just starting it. I have it drafted and have started assembling. Love APPLIQUE!!!!!

duckydo 12-23-2010 06:07 PM

I want to do another Spinner, it is really fast.

JAS 12-23-2010 06:19 PM

To finish up it would be a quilt I designed and making for a friend by yrs end top will be completed..Wanting to start new: Civil War Bride Quilt by Corliss Searcy...

vickie1976 12-23-2010 06:20 PM

I finished my second quilt this week and started on a lap quilt for my scuba diving son. I like art quilts that tell a story. This one will have a reef, treasure chest, sunken ship, sharks, sail boat and more.

mmlctnp 12-23-2010 06:23 PM

A black, white and red quilt (not sure of pattern yet) for my son's birthday in Feb. I am starting a committee to do a library quilt as a fund raiser for our new library and celebration of our town's 150th anniversary. Then finish a log cabin I made the top for 20 years ago. After that, I'm not sure.

luvnquilt 12-23-2010 06:24 PM

I need to finish hand quilting on my DD quilt that she's going to open on christmas morning (binding and most stitching done, just inside of blocks), a scrappy/white quilt I'm designing in my head (LOL) and a denim rag quilt for DM (I offered her other- fancier ones but she just loves the one we have so how can I argue with that!)
