It's easier to say what I *have* done, and that is piecing triangles (learned my lesson--starch the bias edges!), hand-quilting and hand-binding. Pretty basic!

I am interested in hand-piecing, working with diamonds and hexes, making more complex patterns (so far I've only done 4-patch and quarter-square triangles), wholecloth quilting, trapunto, English paper piecing, applique... basically any of the handwork techniques. I like to keep traditional crafts alive. :)

needle turn applique..it scares me to death..but yet I LOVE hand work, even hand piecing, so not sure why the "A" word scares me so much....maybe it is because all of the "Appliquer's" I have even known personally were sort of what you might call SNOBS..about their skills...meaning they would not take the time of day to teach anyone!

I made my first Stack N Whack at LQS and fell in love, although it is very time consuming and difficult to understand when starting to sew them together, what fun as each square is so totally different, you never know in advance what it will turn out like, I love doing them now and have made 5 for gifts for DH and my children...please try it, you will love it

Trapunto, whole cloth quilts, machine applique. Have at least tried most everything else even if not proficient at it or never want to try it again. I do love the more challenging blocks so have run across most everything. It's funny reading the posts because lots of you seem afraid of hand applique. That is what I love to do (needleturn, reverse, etc) but am scared to try machine applique. Don't know why exactly. But will try it in the future.

I've tried needle turn applique, but I'm horrible at it. I keep wanting to try, but I just have issues holding the tiny pieces and the needle (I'm a lefty, so I work it differently I think)

I have only been quilting for a few years, so there are many techniques that I just haven't had the time to try. I have the pattern for paper piecing and did a small test block. I have no interest in applique or art quilts. I have done 2 bargello table runners and loved the process. So much easier than it looks. There are just hundreds of quilt patterns that I want to make, and I add more every day! If only my budget could keep up with me. LOL
