I have 2-3 pr of scissors in my top drawer of my sewing table. Two of them are relatively large and one has a very fine 'pinked' blade. I also have a small - 4-6" pair. The small and the non-pinked pair are some no-name brand that I picked up when my father was doing business closeout consolidations. I have to tell you, those 2 pr are the sharpest scissors I have ever used in my lifetime! The blades are razor sharp. I just have to pass the blade near thread and it's cut! So the small pair tend to move from the machine to the cutting table depending on what stage I'm working.

I have a small pair of Fiskars on my machine and those are what I use.

a pair of $3.89 squeezable snips--I find them at quilt shows and always buy 3-4 pairs. They seem to disappear to my daughter at quilt retreats!

I have some Fiskars school scissors that I use at the machine for thread snipping, mostly. It never occurred to me to buy them, but acquired them in a bag of quilting stuff at an estate sale. They work very well.

Key to keep it handy is to wear it on a retractable reel (pin reel for holding scissors) A very practical item to have, it expands to approx 16".

A pair of snips I put a command hook on the side of my machine and hook them on it so I never loose them.

I use Fiskars Soft touch Easy Action Scissors. They are spring loaded and stay open until you lock them closed. I love just picking them up and squeeze to cut. One easy motion. I have several pairs and keep one at each machine.

I have several pairs of small scissors with sharp narrow tips. They work well for seam ripping as well as other things. I put a command hook on each machine and hang my scissors on the hook so I don't lose them.
