What Should You Be Doing Instead of Reading the Boards?

I have to rip out some quilting I did on a panel. I used white thread on a dark fabric, duh!! So instead of ripping, I'm reading the boards! :)

Jackie Spencer 03-15-2013 05:14 PM

Absolutely nothing! I've been at it all day, finally taking a break!

nyelphaba 03-15-2013 05:54 PM

I should be cleaning my kitchen.

tezell0801 03-15-2013 06:06 PM

Nothing, I chased grand kids all day. Beautiful day full of fun.

Maggie_Sue 03-15-2013 06:08 PM

Just finished a lap quilt for my sister, now I need a break!!!

JuneBillie 03-15-2013 06:17 PM

Nothing, because it re leaves my stress.

pyffer3 03-15-2013 06:33 PM

I get bored easily! So I take breaks from quilting, cleaning, etc. and read the board. Sometimes for hours and end up not finishing a goal I had in mind and staying up too late and being tired the next day.....then doing it all over again! LOL. I really, really like this board and all the wonderful advice. It's addicting! But, really a necessity for a semi-beginner, like myself. I need all the confidence I can get and I feel like I get it here! Thanks, and keep up the good work fellow board members.

akisan 03-15-2013 06:34 PM

I should be cleaning my closet. Have a lot s of clothes to send to Salvation Army and Value Village. Also need to clean my sewing room, do the ironing but this board is reaoly addicting. So here I am.

Pat625 03-15-2013 07:12 PM

I have a quilt to be sandwiched..or I could be ironing...or I could be cutting scraps for my boxes....or I could be finishing the Irish Soda breads I need to bake..but here I am with a smile as I visit with some great friends!

patsynel 03-15-2013 07:20 PM

Just finished a table runner, then it is off to bed. Got a craft show to attend tomorrow at one of the plantation homes.
Suppose to be a beautiful day.

wytetygeress 03-15-2013 07:24 PM

I should be sleeping =)

M.I.Late 03-15-2013 07:50 PM

I come here while my brain is planning my next move. (That's my story and I'm stickin to it)
I almost never do the "priority" thing first... I have to build up to it whatever it is.

barny 03-15-2013 07:59 PM

It's late and we should be in bed, but, we have been playing dominoes with a bunch of people and now we're watching a really good show and I'm watching this computer. I love it.

Ranchwife 03-15-2013 09:00 PM

I should be going to sleep...

janedee 03-15-2013 09:15 PM

getting ready for work - its only 5am here

Quilt-T 03-15-2013 09:24 PM

I should be piecing my son's quilt or binding the quilt I made for my sister that has been back from my LAQ for two weeks now. Planning to get something done today! Once I'm really out of bed-it's 6:30AM here.

Anniedeb 03-15-2013 09:55 PM

I'm doing exactly what I'm supposed to be doing! I usually read the board between 1-3 a.m....I'm a night owl, and yes, as others have said...this board is addicting! Love the advice, ideas and so many beautiful pictures! It's 1:00 a.m.

michelleoc 03-15-2013 09:56 PM

The UFO's are calling to me. I'm ignoring them for the time being. Off to bed and then tomorrow it's housework and cooking prep for St. Patrick's Day. Oh, and taking my son's friend home after a sleepover. The trend of teens not wanting to get their driver's license doesn't bother me until I have to cart friends all over the place (and why don't their parents reciprocate?) But I digress...

gramajo 03-16-2013 03:10 AM

I just got up and brain isn't functioning yet. I'm drinking my coffee and waiting for the newspaper to be delivered. It usually doesn't get here until after 7, so I'll be on here for awhile checking out what you all have been doing.

redmadder 03-16-2013 03:41 AM

I work in circles. Load of laundry, cut some scraps, wash a few dishes, sew a few 9 patches, make up bed, use it to lay out blocks, sweep up shreds from cutting scraps, pin blocks into rows, vacuum, sew the rows, do some gardening, sew the rows together, put away laundry, admire the quilt top while I iron. And people wonder how I get so much done!

HillCountryGal 03-16-2013 04:23 AM

What SHOULD I be doing? :D Well... now that I'm retired.. whatever the heck I want!
Although there's lots that needs doing around here. Laundry (isn't here always?!) alterations for people, work in the yard, clean the bathrooms. The list could go on forever.

But here is where I find inspiration for that next project. Visiting quiltingboard is a gift I give myself each day! Cause I enjoy y'alls company.

GailG 03-16-2013 04:44 AM

I'm with you HillCountryGal!! Things that NEED to be done can wait. I'm pooped from two days of cake baking. Have them boxed and ready to deliver later this morning. Yes, this is where I get my inspiration. Also am waiting for a fellow QBer to get online for a chat. I'm having withdrawals here. The ideas, inspiration, and friendships here are the best.

bunniequilter 03-16-2013 05:08 AM

I should be thinking of getting ready to go to work, but just one more quick scan.

jcrow 03-16-2013 05:33 AM

I'm doing exactly what I love to do - read about everybody's quilting adventures!

rebeljane 03-16-2013 05:38 AM

Finishing a quilt!

BellaBoo 03-16-2013 05:50 AM

I was planning on sewing all day and watching The Quilt Show. My DD called and wants to take grandson on a day trip to daffodil mountain to take Easter pictures. So of course I'm going too.

kamaiarigby 03-16-2013 10:28 AM

It is 7.30am here, most mornings I sit in my favourite arm chair ,coffee at my side and read what all you wonderful talented folk share with the rest of the quilting world, some days it takes hours but who cares, I am also retired, after a very busy life. After two years I have come to know so many of you, this is really the most wonderful board, Thank You Thank You so much,
to the people who have made this board what it is. I never regret time spent here with my friends

Pat M. 03-16-2013 10:34 AM

Cleaning out my sewing room, the computer is in here, so here I sit.

SusanMarie1956 03-16-2013 10:37 AM

I'm being nice and quiet on the computer so my hubby can take a much needed nap. Then I can quilt a camera bag..:-)

Susan

Grandma Peg 03-16-2013 10:38 AM

We all could be doing something else but this is much more fun and educational.

Quilty-Louise 03-16-2013 10:51 AM

I am SUPPOSED to be moving everything out of my sewing room so
that I can tear down my current L-shaped desk (aka sewing table) and
get ready to set up the new larger L-shaped desk as my sewing table.

But I sooooooo dread doing that.

Pat625 03-16-2013 04:47 PM

I reward myself with a visit to the board when I have been productive enough throughout the day if I have project I need to get done...If nothing that HAS to be done, this is where I belong when I want to!! I am out on disability and can sew when ever I want and visit whenever!!

adamae 03-16-2013 04:50 PM

I sh be setting blocks together, but I consider this board educational so it is justified.

deedum 03-16-2013 04:55 PM

I should be making my dh pumpkin cookies, instead I am loafing here on the computer. I should get back to my lapquilt that I want to get finished tonite yet.

This is my excuse exactly. I finished a top today - should be sandwiching, and I have all kinds of veggies prepped for my week's cooking adventure - but I'm not quite cooking yet!

booklady1952 03-16-2013 05:05 PM

Square up the blocks for my latest quilt top.

Treasureit 03-16-2013 05:09 PM

I am supposed to be at church, but my husband wasn't going (We go Sat. nights)...I almost got there and remembered that I do not have my glasses to drive home in the dark. They needed adjusted and are at the Optometrist...so I had to go home. There is no way I can drive at night with sunglasses. So I am on here instead. Anyone want to share a good sermon?

franc36 03-16-2013 05:59 PM

I should be sleeping. Instead, I'm enjoying the Board on my iPad. As usual, I'm learning lots too. I love reading the Board at night!

meanmom 03-17-2013 04:40 AM

I should be cleaning my house, fixing breakfast, doing laundry, sewing. The list is so endless. I do need to finish installing my design wall and peg board in my sewing room/ That will take priority over the cleaning stuff. Someone gave me a design wall it is leaning against the wall now and I am using it as is. So need to finish installing it.

Amythyst02 03-17-2013 04:47 AM

Since I just got up, its 5:44 AM I can't think of a thing I should be doing besides reading the boards with my first cup of coffee. :)
