What size border?

This is my quilt top, but I want to add another border of the teal green print.
Since the large white border was 3 1/2", the floral boarder was 6 1/2", should the next border be 9 1/2" .....or should it be another 6 1/2"?

Thanks for your help.

Sorry the picture is horizontal. I could not figure out how to turn it!!!

I think you will just have to lay it out trying both sizes, and take a pic, then compare them. It looks pretty and complete to me the way it is.

I want to make it bigger than lap sized, that's why I want to add another boarder.

That is pretty. i think i'd go w/ the 9 1/2.. you have the 3, then 6, and then 9.

If the 9 is too much, then you can cut it down. :D

Rather then adding another big border, I think I would look for a quilt block I wanted to do in matching colours. I would then do enough of the blocks to go down one side and across the bottom or top for an asymmetrical setting of the center.

I think I would do a border with blocks too. Sometimes when you just add more plain borders it distracts from the lovely center medallion and it seems to be easier to get wavey borders for some reason (at least in my experience!)

I agree with Tartan and quiltingshorttimer, you are going to be overwhelmed with borders. So a nice arrangement of blocks would be great.

Hey, 2 rows of blocks is a good idea. I might think about that. Actually I do a lot of embroidery. Maybe I can incorporate some blocks with embroidery.
Thanks for that idea.

I agree too....and
you will have lots of fun designing and making the blocks.
