I tend to make twin size, or lap/wall hanging size. I quilt by hand so I am not going to attempt anything larger. I don't use a frame so it would be much too bulky. I never measure mine so I don't know dimensions, I just quilt until it looks right, I only use patterns as guidelines.

Where did you find a pattern for QAYG. ? I have been looking for them.

Most of my quilts now are throw size (about 60"x72") or wall quilts.( from mini to about 40")

Most of mine are large lap size, around 60" squared, or oversized kings.

So far I have pieced two table toppers and a charity lap quilt. I have plans for more lap quilts (I am only 5'1" m/l) so lap quilts are large enough for me to use when sleeping. My quilt guild is working on a quick quarter so I am venturing into unknown territority and am planning on something slightly wider than a twin. We are two weeks behind schedule thanks to Ma Nature, but Monday is the day. So looking forward to getting started. In February we are doing a double wedding ring table runner. Our goal this year to smaller projects, one each month.
Actually, as I write this I think I my adventurous side is waning and I will do a slightly larger lap quilt. I do have to ease into handquilting as well. Seeing things in print is a tad scary and overwhelming. |
B-I-G ones ......... More on the large double/queen size. We use every one I make, then into the washer/dryer and then to the giftee. Gotta find out how wonderful each one is before it disappears.

Mostly lap and baby quilts. Occassionally, a queen size quilt.

I seldom make bed quilts anymore. I make a lot of baby and couch potato quilts. Everyone seems to love a small quilt to snuggle under while vegging out on front of the tv.
