Silver Linings Originals also has tons of intricate PP patterns of dogs. I have not tried making any yet but I did order a set of cat patterns.

Check out Sharon Schamber's web site. She has directions for doing something like this. I think she calls it piecelique. Paper piecing would also work for this picture.

Companies, such as Jacquard, produce pre - treated material that you can print photographs onto using your bubble - jet printer. I mention Jacquard as it seems to be the cheapest and also produces a good resolution in the intensity that is produced on the material. Just follow the simple instructions which are enclosed in the packet. They sell them 10 per packet over here. I usually print in best or vivid mode and quilt and embellish after I have heat - treated the result, and left the correct amount of time after printing.

Here's a link to software that's supposed to help you make quilts like this:
http://www.cosman.nl/index_en.php and here's an online program that does something similar: http://www.vam.ac.uk/microsites/quilts/patchwork I haven't tried either but had bookmarked these for future reference. Hope they help! |
