These pictures were posted yesterday from a quilt show. Does anyone know what these patterns are? I absolutely love them and would like to try my hand at them. :?: :?:

emerald46 06-09-2011 04:25 AM

I have no idea but that first one is wonderful and would easy to duplicate without a pattern.

QuiltE 06-09-2011 04:30 AM

#1 made via tube quilting. There's been lots of links and tutorials posted on the Boards. I haven't kept them as you'll see, I've already done the technique!
<--------------

I believe there's a tutorial on Missouri Quilt Company!

cjomomma 06-09-2011 04:39 AM

#1 is stripe quilting. Very easy to duplicate.

#2 I saw someone post this one a few days ago with name but don't remember who it was.

Julie in NM 06-09-2011 04:50 AM

Saw the brown one some place ...cant remember where. It would be able to duplicate. 2 diff Jelly rolls sets sewn together in strips? Squares cut MAYBE on diag and sewn together is my guess. I'd love to do one in blues.

noahscats7 06-09-2011 04:54 AM

You have good taste in quilts. I love them both also.

janRN 06-09-2011 04:59 AM

The first one is a kit from Keepsake Quilting and I believe the second one is too (not 100%).
I wish when someone posts their pics they would give the name of the pattern and say if it's a kit. There are so many I'd love to try but think it's something they created on their own; I'm not that clever. There is such beautiful work shown here that I want to make one of everything! It would be so helpful to know there's a pattern or kit available.

amBoo 06-09-2011 05:12 AM

Hi

Is this the same pattern as the first one?

That's what I was thinking. Grab the graph paper!

CoyoteQuilts 06-09-2011 06:07 AM

I think that the second one is 'Starry Nights' or close to that pattern. I know it was on all the sites last fall. BUT all of the stars can be found on quilters cache. The littlest is called 'Friendship Star'. It's the size that would have to be adjusted....

mbake 06-09-2011 06:39 AM

I think it is! Thanks :)

But these were all pics from a quilt show. The person posting wasn't the one who made them. Otherwise, I agree with ya.

AnnaK 06-09-2011 07:14 AM

I remember the 2nd quilt from a book I had back in the 80's (?). It was called Starry Night but now I can't find it anywhere. Will keep looking.

quiltmouse 06-09-2011 09:18 AM

Starry night. It's in one of my books & I only have 8 books. I will look tonight.

hildie 06-09-2011 11:16 AM

I saw a pattern, very similar, if not the exact one, at the Hoffman Fabrics website. It was a free pattern and the directions could be downloaded and printed. The sample was made with Bali Pops and was called Margarita Sunrise.

jitkaau 06-10-2011 02:55 AM

The top one is Margarita Sunrise and it is a free pattern from the Hoffman site:

Just finished this quilt and love it, it is off to be quilted now or I would post a pic. It is called transitions and as someone else said done with the strip tube ruler. Very easy and accurate way to construct a quilt.

Thanks, it looks close enough to me, if it's not the actual pattern...not sure. I appreciate your post, both OP pic & link.

star619 06-10-2011 03:58 AM

What is a strip tube ruler, please?

mbake 06-10-2011 04:02 AM

It's a ruler that works really well for that kind of piecing. Here is a link that tells you about it.

janeknapp 06-10-2011 04:04 AM

The second quilt might be a Judy Martin design.

mustangquilts 06-10-2011 04:17 AM

I just ran across the second one in a magazine last week. I will go through and see if I can find it. I was thinking of making it for my nephew. I will look tomorrow morning before going to work.

Nancy

definitely is!

Johanna Fritz 06-10-2011 05:59 AM

First one is just a simple string quilt pattern.

foxdonna 06-10-2011 06:07 AM

I think the first one might be Margarita Sunrise. I am making it now. It is designed for the strip tube ruler, but you can do it without one. I think it's a free pattern from cozyquilt.com

newestnana 06-10-2011 06:56 AM

I am so glad you asked because I was wondering the same thing!

Phyllis42 06-10-2011 07:18 AM

Go to: http://www.mountaintopquilters.com

They take pictures at every monthly meeting. Maybe you could find if you have time to browse.

These pictures were posted by someone who went to the Thumb Butte Quilter's quilt show this past weekend in Prescott, AZ and not by the person who quilted these lovely quilts. Before you start copying why not be a little creative and come up with your own ideas. Let the quilter bask in the glow of making a beautiful quilt.

"Imitation is the greatest form of flattery" Besides every quilt is a little different. I am sure the original quilter is glowing that so many people love her quilt and want to copy it in some form.

busygranny 06-10-2011 10:06 AM

I sat "Amen" to that. If the pattern is out there, anyone can do it. They will never look the same anyway.

The first one looks like Transitions, by Cozy Quilt. Here is a link...

http://www.cozyquilt.com/Aspx/Produc...?productID=612

It also looks like the quilter used Hoffman Bali Pop's Cappuccino

Thank you! To Fishavengirl----it is not an original after all!

Darlene516 06-10-2011 11:54 AM

The second one I think is called Starry Night and Clothilde has it.

What about this one?

Ok, it's official....I said I wasn't going to post messages here anymore and now it's done. I'm always made to feel like a moron or an idiot. Seems like some take pride in putting others down and all I meant in my post was that perhaps the quilter could have her time to enjoy what she made. Not that the pattern wasn't public domain or others didn't have the right to make one like it. Be creative and think outside of the box was the point I was trying to make. Signing off for good!!

Ilovemydogs 06-10-2011 01:17 PM

fishhavengirl - don't go! I am sorry you were hurt. I am sure that wasn't intended. We all have something to offer to this board. We all have our opinions and it is really hard to sometimes say exactly what we mean online! Kind of like if a word is in all caps you are yelling.
