what are they called?
New quilter. Yes you can find anything on the web IF you know what it's called. They are blocks sometimes with a square or rectangle in the middle with what looks like various width strips, on two or all sides, then squared up.

Could it be the French Braid pattern? French braid sometimes start with a square of fabric as the center and then strips and little squares are added on both sides of the square to form a long strip.

Do you mean log cabin? That's the first thing that popped into my mind.

yes, I was thinking log cabin. it can be done so many ways including a pineapple block.
they can be set in a million different ways also. a great block for beginners as well as experienced quilters. |
