What thread do you use when you hand applique? What needle do you use?

Thanks everyone.

Are you asking for hand or machine applique ?

BellaBoo 08-06-2010 05:43 PM

For hand and machine appliqué I use YLI Silk thread. It sinks in the fabric.

I always use a #11, Richard Hemming and Son, milliners needle and YLI thread.

Last time I just used the betweens 10 and Clarks and Coats thread . I have also done it with just regular hand sewing needles

I use silk thread and a straw needle usually. I also use a thimble:)

I use John James #10 quilting needles and DMC 50 wt cotton thread.
