They have a little gripper cloth out there that will do the same thing and not so expensive.

I'm with feline fanatic. Can't bear loads of clutter on my fingers. A digit cut from a pair of rubber gloves on my index finger is all I need and saves time.

I use a little pair of jewelry pliers...works fine...costs much less...

Never have seen that tool. Personally, I think it looks a little cumbersome. I use one of those round grippers...don't know what they're called - but they're very useful in helping take hold of the needle when hand quilting through multiple seams.

I have arthritis in my thumbs, and have quilted for years using a very small pair of bent needle nosed pliers to pull the needle through when hard to pull. I keep them and a pair of tweezers in my quilting supplies basket. Sure helps sometimes.

Haven't seen it before, but I like what it does. Wonder where to get one and what's it called? Thanks for sharing.

What will they think of next?

It' is operated with one hand. That is a good thing going for the device. Time was when I hand sewed, I used a curved needle and a hemostat. It looked real natural for a bunch of L&D nurses. Outside of the department I got some strange looks. I was garment sewing at the time. I think on quilting, a curved needle would not be as good because of the angle. But Hey, if all of the stitches were consistent???

That is what I have also...bought it years ago...and it still works...don't remember how much it cost but I know it wasn't much, and it does the job every time.
