Love the array of colors. I agree a white border is a must. If you feel something else would be needed. I've done a quilt where I've just added some extra blocks only at the four corners, which extended the quilt design but kept the eyes on the whole quilt. You would put like 3 or 5 at each corner. Do what I always say to myself, KISS it. Keep It Simple Stupid.

I think I'd pick a narrow solid border, or maybe a flange and finish it up with a white border. If you still want to pull in one of the colors, bind it in a solid.

I could not believe my eyes. How long did it take you to make these blocks?

One more ... I kinda like this too. I put a 4" white border then a series of 1" different colored stripped borders followed by a 4" white border. I like the frame. While I like the look ... the thought of 80" long 1" strips frightens me!!!

I don't have a good suggestion for you but just want to say , "Oh my goodness, that quilt top is wonderful!

That's what I was suggesting ... with one switch ... the outer row of 9Ps all around would be removed to keep the chain closed. That final row opens it up again.
Great "playing" on the EQ7 with lots of ideas, DHMom! </g> This will be a gorgeous quilt! Some day I want to try one. |
Very pretty. I am not a big fan of white and would not add more white. I would pick out one of my favorite colors and make that the border. I do not like the idea of a piano border. Too busy for that much detail going on in the field. But don't pay any attention to me - I am just a novice and looking at it with what is probably an untrained eye.

I would add a nice black or brown thin inner border than use a larger outer border. this will help break up the quilt and give the eyes a place to rest. especially if you do a piano key border. But that is just me. then for the big border I would go with maybe a tyedie batik or fabric. one that is rainbowish in color. that would look nice I bet.

hi
I have made two OMG I used 3 small boarder fabrics on my white back ground one and just picked what fabric I had lots of. On my black back ground one I used boarders to equal the size of my OMG block and added more OMG blocks in the corners. I really like the idea of the diamonds. I am thinking about making a 3 rd.. Just love this quilt |
I can see a white inner boarder and then a larger boarder with a prairie points using all the colors in the center... I agree a piano boarder would seen heavy and take away the center beauty...
