Absolutely gorgeous! All of QuiltE's ideas get my vote for finishing.

It's a gorgeous quilt. I'd use a white or, like ckcowl suggested, a light color matching one of your favorite colors used.

You don't need a pattern, the quilt is simply made of two alternating traditional blocks, the double 9-patch block and the shoo fly block.
Double 9-patch: http://www.quilterscache.com/D/Doubl...atchBlock.html Shoo fly: http://www.quilterscache.com/S/ShooFlyBlock.html The difficulty lies in the amount of patience it takes to piece so many tiny blocks! Kudos to the O.P. for her beautiful creation! |
This is gorgeous! Kudos to you for having the patience to make all those blocks. Love your colors!

I don't think I would put any border on it.

First of all, whoa is it beautiful. I would stick with anything that doesn't detract from all the beautiful piecework. I'm voting for a white border as well.
|
Do you need it to be a larger size? If not I would just put a binding on it. It is very striking with all the colors as is.
|
I too think the piano key boarder is too heavy. I would have a small WHITE boarder then prairie points (the kind where you fold them) of all the fabrics you have left over or from your stash, and then a larger White boarder>

I would have a solid border. It would really make all of your hard work stand out. Beautiful job.

Beautiful! I don't think a piano key border would work as the quilt is very (beautifully) busy as it is. I would consider a darker turquoise border about the size of your HSTs, followed by a white border. You have done a fabulous job!
