One suggestion would be to make a 9 -patch with the green and red fabrics, using 2.5" strips, then measure the dimension of that 9-patch and cut squares the same size of the focus fabric (red barn ), then alternate a 9 -patch with a focus fabric square. I make this pattern all the time for a quick baby quilt, 5 blocks across and 7 down, with the focus fabric squre first in the first row, then continue to alternate the blocks. You can also do what woody suggested with the pattern from quiltermag.com. Looking forward to see what you pick. Also, whenever I get stuck on a project and can't decide how to proceed, have some chocolate or even work on another project then go back to it. Changing your focus can clear your head and make the decision easier. Hope this helps.

I remember seeing a scenic print with a black cutout making it look as though the view was through a gate or scrolled window. Would be nice for a wall hanging. I think the Christmas the quilter had something using a nativity scene and narrow black strips.

attic window? I have done several with the same type of fabric and they turn out pretty good

This is my thoughts as well. I looks like you are looking out throught a fancy window. They are really beautiful when finished. I have the pattern at home in Saskatchewan so I don't know what the name of it is.

This "speaks" Attic Windows or Irish Chain to me. Please let us know what you decide. :)

I like the attic window idea and since those are lovely apple blossoms how about throwing a few appliqued apples around for interest!

I must admit that my first thought was Attic Windows, too.
