In my humble opinion I think it would be amazing as a stack and wack! Look at all those motifs that are identical..... You could then fussy cut some butterflies to scatter over the front and use the rest for the backing and/or border! YUMMY....

Please don't cut it up. I would just add a light color boarder to this. It is way to pretty to cut.

What a great find. But what you have is not a panel but a 60" wide fabric. Most likely vintage or intended to be used for lightweight upholstery (like cushions for a wicker couch or window seat). When touring the 1000 islands region a couple years ago, we went to the Boldt houseboat (robber baron of the gilded age) it had been restored to replicate decor of the era and the sofa on the houseboat was upholstered in that same insect fabric. It was gorgeous. Like so many others who posted I would so tempted to leave both as a whole cloth throw quilt. Simply border it, quilt it and bind it. A good LA quilter could really make it shine.

There are so many wonderful borders you could add. Maybe after your more detailed ones, you could finish off with a shorter piano key that uses all your colors!! Smiles... what a lovely find!! I too, would not cut it but use it whole.

Border it. I would not cut it.

Since it is quite large, why not leave it whole (maybe add borders) and just quilt it?

What about the Four Patch Posy or One Block Wonder? I think it would be great for either one of these. Very pretty!

I would not make an attic windows out of that. That would make awesome center pieces in a double irish chain.

I think I would carefully cut around the blooms and greenery (perhaps iron a fuseable on first) then cut out a vase for the arrangement to go in. Then I would place it on a beige background fabric, maybe include a couple of butterflies from the other fabric, and you have a beautiful applique. Make it into a wall hanging, or a quilt for the couch.

Your picture I think shows the fabric 'upside down' the stems go out from the top. I would turn it around.
