What would you do with this beautiful panel
I bought this panel in a charity shop. It measures about 66x72 ins and has the most gorgeous colours of flowers and there is another panel same size covered in butterflies which I would love to use as a backing. I saw on here some time ago where if the panel is cut into squares and sashed it looks like window panes. can anyone help me with this as to what size I should cut the panel as there is a center bunch and I'm not sure how to go about it.

I would try and fussy cut the groups of flowers but I think I'd go with a rectangle rather than a square. It just seems to lend itself to that. For the windowing (sashing) you could go with an attic window setting but I think it would look very nice with regular sashing around it. Are the butterfly groupings about the same size as the flowers?

What a find!!!! what I've done in the past is to cut a window the size of the FINISHED block I'm thinking of in a large sheet of paper, poster board works well. You can move this around and see what parts of the print will be isolated. You can cut different sizes and shapes. You can re use the windows for other large print projects. Just remember that when you decide on a size, add the seam allowance when you actually cut!
