I really like the blocks set into that green with the sashing. It looks great. I would do a scrappy piano key border on it. Really anything scrappy will look good in MHO.

I agree with the others that a scrappy border would work. If you are short of fabric, you might be able to sneak in a few solids that pick up the colors of the fabric.
Are you planning to finish the off-white sashing around all four sides of the blocks so that all the blocks are "framed" in the off-white? Then do a scrappy border. If you can find a solid - or have enough of the green left - that would work for the binding. Looks nice so far. Loretta's suggestion about pressing is useful. My cat likes to "assist" with cutting, pressing, and sewing. And he's only a 10 pounder. I don't know how much fabric you have available to you - sometimes being "short" really forces the creativity. |
I will get a picture of my cat if I can con zyxquilts into posting the picture. (hee hee) His name is Bear-Cat and is a Main Coon cross, between him and the toddler I am surprised I get anything done. I will press the quilt again. I am the sure the more I do it, quilting and pressing, the better I will get.
Thanks again zyxquilts for posting the original pictures. I think I will use the off white around the whole thing, then use scraps and accent fabric to create a scrappy border. Maybe I can do lots of little squares... Thanks for all the advise! |
It's beautiful! I think I would make a scrappy border too. Can't wait to see the finished pictures of the quilt

That is going to be one beautiful quilt. Can I be your sister? LOL I think the scrappy border would look great.

Your doing great. Your sister will never see mistakes, she will always see the amazing quilt that you made for her and that's what really matters anyway. :D
