What would you do?

I am working on a toddler's quilt for a good friend who is the 1 yr old baby's grandfather. He chose the colors and wanted a simple Rail Fence. I decided that it needed a little pizzazz and added the pinwheels. The photo shows only 4 of possibly 42 blocks. If I make it 6 by 7 blocks it will lose the bottom pinwheel. Would you make it square (50" by 50" with border) or oblong (50" by 58" with border)? I am planning on using the blue for a 2" border.

Love it, so bright and cheery. I'd go square 50 x 50

If it's suppose to be for his crib.......I would make it the longer measurements.
It will be cute either way. |
I love it. Can't wait to see it finished

Sunnie this is so fantastic and perfect looking.

I'm thinking at 1 year he would want to
carry it around with him so square would be great. |
I would make it oblong. It would fit his bed longer.

I love the bright colors and the pop of the pinwheel you added!

I would do a square as that would keep everything even and the pinwheel centered. That was a clever centerpiece. I also love the bright happy colors. Well done!

I love the pin wheel in the middle and I also love how big you made the rail fences. Love bright colors. Either way you choose will be perfect. But if for a crib make it longer that's just me. He will treasure it !!
What sizes is your strips and triangles? I just love it. |
