What have you been choosing lately?

Retro?
Contemporary?
Holiday?
Traditionals?
Historicals?
Novelties?
Batiks?
Blenders?

Have you been buying for Christmas gift sewing or for your own use?

Just wondering what everybody's doing...

I'm on a stash diet until I use up some of what I have.

Same here, won't even allow myself to go to the fabric store unless I need thread.

Garage sale bargains, thrift store plaid men's shirts that I've cut up and very little else. My stash is so huge that I've been trying to whittle it down step by step. I just donated quite a bit of fabric, probably at least 100 yds, for making Christmas Stockings for the troops and you can't tell any is gone. That's bad! I'm also trying to sew up a lot of it in stash busting quilts. Once I get it sorted again I may even sell some of it here at a very reasonable prices so keep an eye out.

Our LQS just closed so I stocked up on blenders, moda marbles, fairy frosts, baticks and a lot of notions.

I have been trying to stick to only buying fabric for particular projects that have been planned.

But, that said, I do have to admit that "my stash" that is a lot of random purchases does come in handy when I'm looking for a particular color or such.

We are 15 miles away from the nearest LQS (with a minimal offering) so that I justify some of my online purchases.

But, a good sale or discount always gets me in the mood to purchase fabric whether I need it ornot.

I also have been using fabric from my stash for current projects but find that I usually am in need of solids for borders and binding so stocked up on white on whites and some jeweled toned solids.

I have been looking for a nice big flower print to fussy cut into 10" squares.... and lots of good blenders or tone on tones. And some nice off whites or creams.

mostly batiks and blenders to help use up the strong prints in my stash.

I've been collecting fabric for many years (as most of us have) and a while back I did an assessment. Most of what I have are lights and darks--need more meduims. Also, I need to expand my color choices to include stripes. I especially like the ones that are sort of wavy. I also think that I should be buying black & whites to round out. I do a little sewing after work and most of what I have I'll use up in a hurry when I retire--hopefully in a couple of years. I see the end of the tunnel.!
