Judyjo: did you have a pattern for the cathdral window ornaments or just downsize a quilt block and add your own little touches. I'd like to have instructions if they are available. I've been fasinated by this block and am waiting for Hancock fabrics to put their cathdral quilt directions they have in their latest holiday ideas magazine on line so that I can d/l it and make the quilt.

I have two quilts made for the grand kids. I'm making flannel PJ bottoms with matching pillow cases for the younger crowd. Also some ceramics.

I am a new quilter, as of last jan. when my son was deployed to Afghanistan for a year plus. this year has been a time of learning, so being new, I am doing several table-runners for gifts. I am finding it a blessing to make them! Something from the heart! Have a blessed Holiday!!

Hi, I am new to this. I am making stockings for my 2 married sons and their wives. I am also making a simple 4 patch for my goddaughter for Christmas. 1 stocking is complete, and the other is about 1/2 done. My youngest son, who is still at home, wants me to make him a quilt, which I will start after I get these projects done. His will probably be an after Christmas gift.

Forgot to answer the question...so far I have finshed 5 quilts for kids & grand kids, just need to do the yarn knots. I feel like I cheated just alittle..as 1 of the quilts I got bandanas from the dollar store, sewed them all together, used a old blanket inside{as i do all my quilts}and a sheet for the backing. The other quilts I used the lg fabric panels as my starting point.I spend so much on my fabric stash that yrs ago when the kids were sm I came up w/ the thrifty idea of using the old blanket & sheet method, since then I have learned thats what several others do as well.
I need to finish up a table runner and 2 matching quilted pillows for boyfriends mom....those have been on the list for 2 xmas's now..lol

I'm making fabric envelopes lined with tarnish-resistant fabric to be used as holders for silver jewelry. Good for travel, too.

What kind of fabric is tarnish resistant? And where do you buy it? My daughter makes jewelry and some of it is silver. I would love to make some little bags or envelopes for her.

I am making 2 small photo wall hangings for the 2 remaining Aunts that are left. One just turned 81, the other will be 90 on Dec 31st. I am using a photo of my grandparents (their mom and dad) 50th anniversary. And will also be finishing up a quilt for the one aunts birthday.
